I had one of the most comfortable stays and fun trip in monsoon which checking in at this heritage hotel. The best part is its walkable distance to matheran market and matheran station. It’s located near to Paymaster market which is a beautiful garden and nearby sunset trekking points to enjoy the pleasant atmosphere. The hotel has neat rooms for all- couple rooms, big rooms and tent stays. The food at this hotel is super delicious. They serve unlimited buffet pure vegetarian lunch, dinner and breakfast. So many indoor and outdoor games to enjoy like swimming pool, uno, badminton, cricket, arrow etc. There is DJ night and live singing also that you can dance and sing your heart out with your group. Adventure activities (extra charges- consult at reception) also can be done at this hotel like zip line, burma bridge, commando crossing and hanging plank. And spend the night in the middle of nature. Staying here you’ll feel so relaxed amidst forest with the sounds of birds, greenery all around, no pollution, delicious food, and so many activities to do will add all up in a perfect getaway from bustling city. Children, in particular, will enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and spacious play areas. The live singing during our stay added a delightful touch to the evenings. Its location, approximately a 15-20 minute walk from the market, might be challenging for those who prefer proximity to shops. However, for nature lovers, this adds to the charm, offering a quieter and more tranquil setting. Sunset Point, also a 15-20 minute walk away, provides breathtaking views that are worth the effort. One minor inconvenience is the availability of hot water, limited to 7-10 AM due to its location in a dense forest area. It would be great if the hotel could extend this facility throughout the day, especially for families with young children. Overall, Ashok Hotel provides an enriching experience, perfect for family vacations or romantic getaways. Situated on top of the matheran, near Paymaster Park.||This is a super budget friendly hotel for sure. The rooms are nice and clean. If you are two families then they have an amazing adjacent room which connects internally. The hotel has tents too if you are keen to enjoy it.||They have best amenities like swimming pool, ac, wifi, outdoor activities, indoor games and lot more.||They have many adventure activities we started with archery and tried our luck there to hit the target. Then tried some thrill by doing zip lining in super rainy and foggy weather. It was super fun to be honest.||The swimming pool is amazing, big and has super clean water. It was fun enjoying swimming in chilled weather. We were in ashok hotel when Indian cricket team was playing finals of t20 2024 world cup so they put up a live screening near reception area. It was just amazing to enjoy the match with so many people. Certainly one of the most memorable day of the life.||The food here is pure veg and they serve homemade food. Loved the chole puri, aamaras menu, ohh so dear to our soul. Homely food is best as we get bored of eating this Punjabi and spicy creamy food, so this was ideal.||So friends do visit ashok hotel if you are looking for budget friendly hotel in matheran that too pure veg.

The Ashok Hotel in Matheran is conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from the railway station, making it easily accessible. Nestled amidst lush green surroundings, it offers a serene and tranquil stay away from the hustle and bustle. The hotel caters to various types of guests with different room options available for couples, families, and large groups. We stayed in room number 101, designed for four people, which was spacious, tidy, and well-maintained. One of the highlights of our stay was the range of recreational activities available, including a swimming pool and various indoor/outdoor games and adventure activities. These options ensured there was never a dull moment during our stay. The food served at the hotel was another delightful aspect. The unlimited buffet meals - lunch, dinner, and breakfast - were delicious and offered a variety of choices, catering to different tastes. Overall, our experience at the Ashok Hotel was very positive. It provided a comfortable and enjoyable retreat amidst nature with excellent facilities and food. It's definitely a great place to consider for anyone planning to visit Matheran.

Recently stayed in Ashok Hotel at Matheran and it was a Lovely experience ❤️ Took family room for me and my family members. Room was fully clean and tidy with Ac and hot water facility. Talking about location area, it was fully covered with greenery and it was loaded with freshness and oxygen. Daily you'll get varieties of food which will satisfy your cravings. Including chats like Pani Puri and tea, coffee and icecream as well 🥰 My parents were really satisfied visiting this place. Thankyou Ashok Hotel for this lovely treatment ❤️ and yes each members working at this place is super helpful and sweet.

I was extremely disappointed with the service and amenities provided. Basic cleanliness and hygiene were severely lacking. The common dining hall had chairs and walls covered with mold and fungus. My room was dusty, with damp walls, and the bathroom curtain was moldy. Additionally, the blankets and pillow covers were of poor quality. For a rate of 4,500 INR per night, this place is not at all worth it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Specially people with dust allergy, this place would give you a bad allergic attack.

I had a wonderful stay at Ashok Hotel, Matheran! The warm hospitality, serene surroundings, and well-appointed rooms made for a perfect retreat. Waking up to nature and enjoying delicious meals was a highlight. The staff was attentive and ensured our visit was memorable. Service was pathetic. Staf was rude. I had booked room for 16 people as per the capacity of 8 per room. Later I was given room capacity of 7 people with extra bed lying on flort which was not given to us, we were still ok and when I asked the same at the night, the staff just dumped it and was going. When I really humbly request him to prepare the bed he said, ' tum logo ko samjh me nahi ata? 8 log ate ho aur 7 logo ka room book karte ho. 500 log ate hai din me lekin tumhare jaise nahi are this what he said while preparing the bed and was so angry just due to we went for dinner little late. We were late for the dinner due a live singing where we had requested for only one single song since long and it was not played by the band. Last year I had visited matheran thrice in period of four months in the same hotel. Still I had received this kind of treatment. After this I have visited again Marheran but dint stayed at this place. I am hoping that I should receive apologies from tha hotel
