OYO 1676 Hotel Royal Punjab

Worst experience ever. Very small rooms, not even a cupboard is there. Very poor service, not even drinking water is provided after checking in. Took 30 mins to get water after reminding thrice. Don't provide breakfast in the room even for old people who can't come for buffet. Had to buy breakfast from outside for my mom. Difficult to reach to the location. You will have to leave taxi 2 km away and get an e rickshaw to reach to the hotel.

I had an strange experience with this hotel. I booked one room online through Makemytripa and at the time of check in the hotel staff denied to approve the booking as they were saying the amount is higher than as booked online.After talking with the customer care ut was finally settled by paying extra money in cash.||Coming to the experience with the hotel, simply saying it was up to our satisfaction.||The best part which i liked about the hotel was the speed of the internet. Everything was good.Will highly recommend but would suggest to book offline as there are chances of mis-communication.

Due to winter holidays we two couples decided o visit Amrittsar, wagah border and nakodar shaib ji. To be honest, true, and fair the pics shown on different web sites of this hotel rooms is completely reversed. While i was searching a good hotel near golden temple i came across this property, but the pics they are showing on ||line are entirely different.||||Firstly when we reached amritsar we had to park our car in he parking slot where all other vehicles were stopping. After getting down and telling erickshaw person to take us to this hotel he charged a good amount of money , the reason he gave us that its in the interior of the city and he had to take a long and diffrent route to reach at he hotel. Any ways after 10- 15 minutes from he parking area we reached through very narrow by||lanes where we could not have found and our innova car would have been stucked in he lanes.||When we reached hotel check in was very fast and prompt and staff was very helpful and cooperative and when i told the recepionst about our reaching out and find the hotel, she was very polite and told us tthat we should have called her from there and they would have send some one at the parking. ||Rooms are not that quite big and even bed was small for my self. The rooms were neat and clean and even the wash room too also. ||Now we entered we saw bed sheets dirty and stains were there as no new bedsheets were changed. As we were in hurrry for wagah border we told them to once again clean the room and bedsheets too also. AHH what to say about their towels, they were looking like white poochas with whom we clean tthe dirty floors. While we were leaving for wagah border we requested at the reception that it would be difficul for us o locate the hotel at night so you pls depute a guy which is closet so they it would be easier for us to reach at the hotel and go to sleeep. ||Whil coming back from wagah at night we asked at least 15-20 people about this hotel ROYAL PUNJAB and we keep calling that person who was supposed to be on the highway to take us to the hotel.MY god that guy didnt bothered to pick up the call and we were roaming here and there asking people about this property.At last an old sikh gentlemen who was on a bicycle told us to follow him and he dropped us at the hotel at night. I asked the guy at reception why there was no one as PROMISED BY your receptionist that some one will be there but sorry to say that guy never ever picked our call and when he receptionist called him from the hotel number he picked it up immediately and said sorry he had forgotten about bringing back to the hotel.||The receptionist immediately said sorry and apologise for the blunder.||While sleeping at night there was a loud bang just opposite our room and the heavy electric wire caught fire and fell down just missing my car and driver, if that high voltage electrical wire had fallen upon the car you can just imagined what would had happened, but wahe guruji saved us and it took three hours to fix that high voltage cable wire to be fixed and we could not sleep after that incident. Their intercoms got disconnected and we had to make calls at the reception to ask what type of blast was that and after opening the window we came to know about each and every thing in detail from our driver.||As usual breakfast is complimentary in mostly hotels and when we went down for having breakfast we were guided the way where it was being served.||To my horror and surprise when my wife begin to sit on the chair the cushion and seat fell down and she narrowly missed a big injury on her body and where they serve you complimentary breakfast is their store where they keep all discarded things of the hotel.||Bedding with stains were cramped in a small room with dirty late night party leftovers and dirty tables and what to say about break fast and NO COMMENTS for the breakfast.||in over all as compared to the price for stay at the hotel its worth though rooms are not that big but you can have a sound and safe sleep.||Main problem is the parking and the hotel is very near to golden temple from other old way and if you guys are all alone and not with your family this is very GOOOD OPTION for staying money wise but if you are with your family and kids NEVER EVER GO TO THIS HOTEL.||OVER ALL i would say that rooms are small in size and cleanniness is short and their bathroom towels are just like poochas.||In short its good for young guys and not for family members acccording o me .May be they might be having family rooms too also but at last rooms are small , in narrow bylanes and for the first time to reach its very difficult.||i had decided i WONT EVER BE STAYING IN ANY OYO HOTELS IN FUTURE FOR SURE.

Nice hotel and main thing near to Shri Darbar Sahib and jallianwala Bagh. Rooms and Bathroom are clean. And Ratesare very nominal or we can say Budget Hotel. Complementary brekfast free in morning. Oyo hotels are really awesome. One can get home like stay here.

The hotel is perfectly located, 5 minutes walk from the Golden Temple. The accommodation was okay but nothing special, the breakfast buffet was also okay. On a downside, we had booked via Booking.com and the OYO booking desk tried to call me to confirm the booking. This was probably while I was on my flight so the 'phone was on airplane mode. As I didn't answer their call they cancelled the booking. Fortunately, the room was still available!

It was overall OK. Rooms were not too big. They have capacity problem for the water boiler so you may not get hot water at the peak bathing times and it could be just warm water. This could be a concern for the tourists visiting the place in winter time. For us, one of the toilet taps came out while in use however they allocated us to a new room. Hotel management is little towards on the rigid side so you should not expect any favor from them (ex: a little late check out) as such. The location is very near to the Golden temple and within a very congested lane. there are a good chance that your taxi/car might not get to the hotel gate and you might have to pull your luggage for about 650 meters (distance from nearest chowk). We were lucky to get to the gate as we reached there by 8 PM in the evening and our UBER driver was co-operative. the taxi cost from Airport to this place was around 450 INR. We did not take any food from the hotel so cannot comment. They provided RO water to our room and hotel staffs were co-operative to us and we did not face any issue. From my opinion, you can avoid doing any prior booking for Amritsar unless you are travelling with aged, newborn or its some local occasion day. There are lots & lots of lodging option around which you can explore and book on spot. Make sure you check "Saragarhi Niwas" for availability which is managed by the temple trust and offers clean AC rooms for just 1100 INR for 2 people & 1 kid max. per room, when we were there in Dec 2018.

This hotel is located in a narrow road near by to Golden Temple & Jallianwala bagh. Small & Clean rooms, Breakfast is good & Complementary. Service is also Ok! Felt transport help desk is a bit expensive. Over all, Comfortable stay!

This was a budget accommodation but family friendly. It is 100m from golden temple back gate(langar hall). The hotel is clean and has minimal amenities. The beds were extremely soft! No toilet paper available. But 24hr steaming hot water. Room was small and had no wardrobe. It's good for one day stay and close to the heritage walk shopping area which has subway, dominos, McDonald's, Belgian waffles and Keventers. We stayed there for one night and it cost us 1300/- . We suggest that you not order meals at the hotel, rather eat out or in the langar. It is located in a very dirty narrow alley, but do not fear, that's how most places in Amritsar are located in.
