Lavi Hotel Hari Darshan - 10 Meter from Golden Temple

The only redeeming quality of this hotel is its proximity to the Golden Temple. The rooms are suffocating, with no ventilation and a persistent foul odor. The toilets are beyond filthy—entering them is simply impossible. They advertise twin beds but instead provide a single bed, forcing guests to sleep on an extra mattress on the floor. This place is a complete disaster. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. After taking one look at the room, I immediately took my family to another hotel, which, while far from ideal, was still better than this nightmare. Don’t be fooled by its location. You won’t be able to use their rooms at all. It’s a total waste of time and money. You’re better off staying at a decent hotel and taking a battery rickshaw to the Golden Temple—there are plenty available. To top it off, the manager disappeared when I confronted him about the rooms not meeting basic standards, only to reappear at his reception desk once we were leaving with our bags.

I just read the last review of the place and must say I was surprised. I was here last May [May 2011] and I thought it was pretty decent stay.. not as pathetic as mentioned in the below review. Things can change in a year... so can't say.. but I atleast had a decent experience. The staff was VERY hospitable. There are no lifts here.. so that is a bit of a problem.. but I did not experience any other broken latches.. bad bathrooms as such. Infact, they were pretty neat!||The view of the Golden temple is ofcourse not like you get to see the main shrine! but at the average cost of the Hotel, what you get is really not bad.||Its like, almost next door to the Golde temple, so I was not surely complaining. All in all, I had a decent experience here.||[I chose July 2011 as the travel time below, as the review does not let one select beyond one year's travel dates.]

A memorable comfortable stay. Staffs are very cooperative and the hotel is very neat and clean. All tourist attractions are near to this place, like - Golden Temple, Jallianwala, Sree Durgiana Temple etc. I would like to stay here when visiting Amritsar always.

We stayed in Super Delux Room. Water facility very nice. Geyser works nicely. Due to power cut we faced problem as AC did not work. Fan & Lights were ON even during power cut but the celieng being very high fan air wasnt effective. Also during the 2nd night AC stopped working and so did the geyser due to some fault in wires. ||Staff was helpful. Hotel does not have lift. Tea & Breakfast good. Rates are reasonable.

I really can’t describe how contended and satisfied I am during my stay at the property. Interaction with whole of hotel staff was excellent. Sharing views and talking with danish was feeling like at home. Quite helpful nature of everyone at hotel. Akal takht entrance to darbar sahib Harimandir sahib is not more than five minutes walk from hotel. I personally recommend to stay at the property and definitely my all future staying will be at this property only. The experience was so bad in this hotel. The room was so dirty. The AC was looking like 1990 model. Rooms were full of dirty smell. Almirah, chairs, dressing table were full of dirt. The price was so high with all above specifications.

A highly recommended property to stay in Amritsar. Distance of 50m from Golden Temple makes it to top the preference list while booking the accomodation in Amritsar. Well behaved staff and the best part is that the owner is always there to help you out. Clean and comfortable rooms.
