We stayed 9 nights at this hotel and had a great experience. What I found unique is that they are set up to accommodate groups, traveling families and also couples wanting a quiet stay. The rooms are very cosy and comfortable. The tents are also very comfortable. They have a beautiful pool where guests of all age groups can enjoy. Breakfast and dinner buffets were very good, having options for children and adults in both western and Indian cuisines. As a couple, we were able to enjoy a relaxing stay. The staff was very professional and helpful. Apart from the buffet the restaurant manager personally ask all guest if they would like to have any special dishes. On our request they arranged for the authentic dal bati churma. The staff will go out of there way to help you. The General manager, introduced himself and was on premises to ensure everything at the hotel was running smoothly, which it most certainly was. There are chatris on the roof with mattress and cushion from where you can enjoy the view of sonar kila (Fort) in backdrop of beautiful sunset.

A "good experience" is what I would like to say to this stay ( only the stay ). The property is just outside the main Jaisalmer city ( well , everything is a stone throw away in jaisalmer ). Architecture is royal, large open spaces. However the rooms do not completely fall in that category. Ample space to take morning or evening walks. Nook and corner for good pics. Sunrise is beautiful from the far end of the property , near the swimming pool. We did not use the swimming pool as it was too cold. You can see a huge number of wind-mills in distance from the property. There is a small but a very beautiful temple as well in the premises. We saw the beautiful colors of sky from the terrace both in the morning and evening, make sure you do that, but be a bit careful with kids, as the terrace had some open wiring for the lighting. The rooms were comfortable, nothing out of the world. The food at this place , wsa the one which made the experience go downhill. We ordered some room-service in night ( around 8-9 pm, not very late ) the food was cold, as it could be. In the morning, as well, I saw the smallest spread I could see, the guy at live counter was missing for a lot of time. The servers were not really sure of how to manage the bread toasting machine. The sambhar was coloured tamarind water. Upma was stone-cold. I did not understand the reason of serving local food, which could have been made better and probably costed them less as well. I did not see the hall to be full as well, to attribute this to the rush or huge number of guests. There was a cultural program planned for nigthat 7:30 PM, however did not start till 8:30 pm, with no update of when it was going to start, and the guests were made to sit in cold in open area. I saw there were other properties in the area which give similiar royal fort stay experience, lets see If I get to try them again in future.

This must surely be a contender for the world's worst hotel. I checked in, went to my postage-stamp sized room. Went to reception to complain didn't took any action. Filthy shared toilet and bathroom. Their were leak stains across the ceiling and the door got jammed shut and needed a good push to open. The TV looked fairly new but with no remote to use I didn't even bother switching it on. The mattress was like lying on a plank of wood and the customer service was bad. Worse than any hostel stay, You can see the mold in the shower floor and walls. The rooms pretty much a small dirty box. Rude staff. Highly NOT recommended.

Nice place for spending a little while. Food is average neither too good nor bad. The hotel staff needs to be a little cooperating with the customers. Hotel is built very nice but strictly needs to be well maintained. Showers not working properly to no hot water in the bathroom are some of its problems probably.

Excellent property. It actually looks and feels like a fort. The rooms are also very nice. The pool area is really good. But have rated it two stars because the staff is not good at all. Inexperienced and not friendly. Room service is poor. When we asked to turn on the recycling in pool they outright refused. It was very cold and if the had turned on the recycling it would have been warmer. Also the food is very poor. Not what you expect from a hotel in rajasthan at all. Would recommend to not include breakfast, lunch or dinner here as there are way better places to eat in jaisalmer. overall I would recommend if you are the type of person who can adapt(which you shouldn’t have to) while travelling and the hotel is not upto the standard. Just for the property, it can be visited but not for staying.

Depending on your expectations from the place, you could end up happy or sad after staying at this place. Entrance is grand and entering it makes you feel like arriving at a royal place. But that's pretty much it. Hotel is well constructed but appeared understaffed even during off-season. Property is huge and worth exploring but poorly lit passages and cigarette smoke spoils the mood. Economy rooms have no view whatsoever.

Visited this hotel for a school excursion and spent 2 nights here. The food is pathetic and the staff seems to restrict entry to certain spots whilst in a group. The rooms are decent and spacious plus the hotel has a terrace which serves as an ideal spot for watching sunrises if you're a fan. Access to Wifi was constantly denied under the garb of a server outage but thankfully Jio and Airtel have decent coverage in this area although it lies in the outskirts. The gym is well equipped but the swimming pool was particularly dirty. They do have a huge playground so it is an ideal location for a group in my opinion. Will recommend you to checkout Desert Palace instead which is just a kilometre from this property.
