Absolutely Horrible Experience – Stay Away for Your Health and Sanity I strongly urge anyone considering this hotel to think again — especially if you care about the health and well-being of your friends and family. Food Poisoning Nightmare The food quality here was beyond unacceptable. Our entire group suffered from severe food poisoning shortly after dining. What was supposed to be a relaxing trip turned into a traumatic experience of vomiting, weakness, and constant discomfort. Most of our time was spent recovering rather than enjoying anything. Zero Customer Empathy or Help What made matters worse was the appalling customer service. When we informed the reception staff of what had happened — clearly explaining the symptoms and expressing our distress — they showed zero concern, no apology, and no attempt to help or investigate. It felt like our health crisis was a non-issue for them. No Hospitality Here This place lacks even the basic sense of hospitality. From food safety to empathy to accountability — it failed us on all fronts. I’ve stayed in dozens of hotels, and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Avoid this hotel at all costs to protect your loved ones. They clearly have no idea how to run a hospitality business, let alone provide a safe and welcoming environment.

We stayed at the Lake Pichola Hotel for 2 nights and I must say the stay was amazing from start to finish. On the day of arrival our train got delayed. We called up the hotel and they kept the kitchen open for us to have dinner. We booked the balcony room with lake Pichola view. The balcony was absolutely stunning. It had direct city palace views and you could just sit in the balcony and spend hours just watching the city get on with their lives. The Upre restaurant is one of the most picturesque in the area and had great food. Breakfast by the lake was a serene and stunning experience. Overall, one of our best stays ever, especially considering the price

Disappointing Stay – Not Family-Friendly Our experience at this hotel was far from satisfactory, especially for families traveling with young children. The hospitality was noticeably lacking, and there was no provision for basic baby food. When we asked for options suitable for our 2-year-old, we were surprisingly suggested fried rice and noodles — clearly not appropriate for toddlers. The room conditions were poor. The mattress was damp due to the rainy weather and remained that way throughout our stay. The room also had a persistent unpleasant odor, making it uncomfortable. The rooftop restaurant Upre is highly overrated. Guests who had made reservations for 7 PM were entertained even if they arrived two hours late, which caused delays and impacted the dining experience of other guests. There were no proper arrangements or communication from the staff. The food itself was average at best, and feedback was neither acknowledged nor considered. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially for families with small children. You're better off booking a reputable 4-star hotel — the tariff difference is minimal, but the experience is significantly better.

We stayed at this hotel recently Thursday Friday n Saturday and unfortunately, our overall experience was far from what we expected. While there were a few positives, the negatives outweighed them significantly. Check-in & Ambience The check-in process went smoothly, and the initial impression of the property was decent. One of the highlights is the lake view, which is actually quite beautiful but surprisingly, it wasn’t well promoted or emphasized by the staff. With such a nice feature, the hotel could have done more to enhance the guest experience through that. Rooftop Restaurant Experience – Below Expectations We visited the rooftop restaurant, hoping for a relaxing evening with some good food. However, it turned out to be a huge letdown. We ordered garlic bread, n other snacks expecting a proper dish, but what we received was a single slice of bread, slightly roasted, with some cheese on top not at all what one would expect from a dish listed as garlic bread. It lacked both flavor and presentation. If you plan to eat at the hotel, I would strongly recommend sticking to local or traditional dishes (desi food). The non-local or multi-cuisine items were clearly not handled well and showed poor attention to quality and authenticity. Room Service & Health Concerns The next day, we decided to try room service and ordered dal, paneer rice, and masala biryani. We were two couples in our group three of us ended up with food poisoning after eating that meal. We were extremely disappointed not just by the fact that the food caused health issues, but by how casually the staff handled it when we informed them. There was no real apology, no check-in from management, and no attempt to take responsibility or offer support. The reception team seemed more concerned about collecting payment than responding to a serious concern regarding guest health. Staff Attitude & Service Quality The overall attitude of the staff was indifferent. Hospitality is not just about providing rooms and food it's about making guests feel cared for. In our case, we felt dismissed and ignored, especially when we needed help the most.

Absolutely mesmerizing experience! The location of Lake Pichola Hotel is unbeatable — right by the lake with stunning views of City Palace and the peaceful waters. The traditional Rajasthani architecture paired with the serene atmosphere creates a royal yet cozy vibe. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and had that old-world charm. The rooftop restaurant offered breathtaking sunset views and delicious food. The staff was polite, attentive, and made sure every moment was comfortable. Highly recommend this gem if you're looking to soak in Udaipur’s beauty with elegance and peace.

Great location but rooms could have been better for what they charge.|The rooms were quite basic in comparison to many other hotels in the city. They charge for the view and location, which is okay, I understand. The people managing the hotel were were nice but wouldn't pick phone when you call them. The best rooms are the ones which are lake facing. The breakfast on the lake front is awesome, a great place to enjoy views and weather.

This hotel is located in the old city of udaipur right on the banks of the pichola lake. Choose the lakeside rooms for a beautiful and calming view and experience. The rooms might not be very spacious but have all necessary amenities like heaters and ac. Breakfast buffet is a normal. The rooftop restaurant is a beautiful and a very good spot to have dinner with a view. As the hotel is located in the old city and cars are not allowed past a certain point call the hotel and ask for their inhouse auto to come pick you up. This is a complimentary service which is very nice. The travel desk is also very helpful and arranges autos/taxis for your travel. Do not forget to enjoy their boat ride which costs extra but is totally worth it at sunset. The hotel might not be the most luxurious but offers a very comfortable stay. Overall would visit again.

We recently stayed at the hotel and had a pleasant experience with the stay overall. However, the hospitality at the restaurant was disappointing. Despite the restaurant’s closing time being 11 PM, the staff seemed in a hurry to wrap things up well before that. We were denied basic services like cold water and finger bowls, with the reason being that the counters were closed by 10:45 PM. Our order was incomplete, and when we requested beverages during the last order round, we were denied without any flexibility or explanation. The overall dinner hospitality did not match the standards expected from a property of this level. It felt rushed and inattentive, which unfortunately left a sour note to an otherwise good stay
