I have always been fond of pelling because of its silent beauty. The greenery at the front and backdrop to the superb beauty of MT. Kanchendzonga,beaming with her sheer whiteness. So picturesque. Last time i was there in 2015 in early june with my family and the hotel was different in its reception to its guest. I remember Mr.Paul who happened to be the owner of this small yet nice homely comfort hotel receive us with a beaming smile as if a relation of my own. My mom had knee problem so he accommodated us in a nice room with less stairs to climb up and down. A very informative and articulate person he was looking after every detail and I specially liked his superb banana Pancakes. This year i visited again in October and he was missing and everything was different and the opposite. It was a total contrast.

To be at pelling is like a rejuvenation center provided by Mother nature.||We were lucky to be there in that sunny morning after a long tedious journey by road from NJP. We were welcomed by the warmth of the manager cum owner Mr.Paul. And after ushering us to our spacious room over looking MT. Kanchenjunga he took personal care of our needs. Good tea was what we needed at that time. We were there for three days and we enjoyed every bit of our say, only the day we were to leave the sun played negative and it was cloudy. Sightseeing around is worth, specially we liked the phamrong waterfalls and tashiding monastery, with the Old man engraving "OM mani padme hung" on the rock tablets. Walking around if one likes walking as we did was really a enjoyable experience. The whole trip was lovely.

I am always very fond of pelling. It gives such a good view of kanchenjunga. A beautiful view of the mountains is just what you get to see from Pelling anywhere you stand. Last year in july i was in pelling and i had put up at Hotel shenga as suggested by one near friend of mine and i really loved it there. Such good view and specially i liked the guy who owned that place in lease ofcourse ...MR.PAUL was his name and he used to be the perfect host and always caring as being one guy who knew just exactly when to be around and make you feel like a family. Food was great he cooked it himself and there was this didi , the housekeeping who was joking all the time, a smiling face. But why i am saying all this , is Mr.PAUL the owner has left and the new management now is not at all upto the mark and we didn't feel comfortable at all. The rooms were not clean and service was poor.

We traveled to Pelling during the beginning of October, and honestly, we had not booked any hotel prior to the visit (you must be thinking we were crazy since October is the peak tourist season). But, to our surprise, while we were roaming around Middle Pelling to find at least a room to spend the next three days (that too within a tight budget), the owner of this place saved us! :) It was perfect for 3 of us with the best view. This was a nice place to stay. The rooms are clean and the best thing is the view from the balcony. We woke up every morning at 5:30 to witness this majestic beauty from our room's window. The room service guy is very helpful and the food, cooked by the owner himself, was a nothing short of an awesome treat for food lovers like me. Two things I would love to mention here - the French fries with chili flakes and "Likey" - the playfully cute little canine (the owner's pet), who lives on the roof! :D

The rooms are very dirty. Bathroom geyser is bad, water accumulates. Wifi is there but not working. A team of 6 of us had a 3 day booking, we were forced to shift to a nearby hotel after staying one night. The behavior of the staff is not bad, the cooking is also good but the behavior of the owner is very bad.

Pelling is a THE DESTINATION for those who love to view kanchendzonga. My family really enjoyed the same from this hotel Shenga where we had put up by reference of my uncle. We reached in the evening and my wife asked the owner who runs the show himself that whether we will see The magnificent mountain or not on the morrow. He said smilingly in affirming and promised no less that we will find the bright snow capped magnanimous kanchendzonga from our bed. And it sure turned true. He was very hospitable and had taken care of our taste bud with lovely darjeeling tea. His staff was equally jolly and made us feel at home. We sure do look forward in coming back again.;

I was here before in 2014 and so it was a comeback for me. I got the same room upstairs. The owner has changed and we missed the warmth that was there before when Mr.Paul used to be the owner and around always smiling and very informative, a knowledgeable person he was. That touch was missing this time and not so perfect anymore. Expect a average comfort and all.

I have been a guest earlier in 2014 in this hotel before and it was run by Mr.paul himself, he was a one man show,compassionate and very caring ,nice talking to. things have changed now that i went again, My stay was not pleasant at all comparing to what i had earlier. Kanchendzonga compensated that.
