Marriot Hotel

Beautiful hotel, great staff, nice restaurant on the 14th floor with great views and good breakfast and lunch buffet. However, we stayed in room 1206 which happens to be exactly underneath the kitchen of the aforementioned restaurant. At the same time, this room has a through door to the 1204. The soundproofing is extremely poor and we were kept up until 10:30 pm by our next door neighbor that had some friends over and were loud. Later he had phone conversations with what we could gather, his beloved family, including very young kids that were quite excited to see their daddy, all of this on the speakerphone. At 11:35 PM, finally, the conversations ended and we could hear the person snoring peacefully. We thought, all right, we could finally get some sleep after a grueling day of touring, only to realize that the staff was still at work in the kitchen restaurant. We could hear the chopping, pots banging and every time some object was being dropped by the cheerful staff who seemed to have a good time, at least that was the impression gathered through our earplugs. 1:30 AM, finally silence, and with unrealistic hopes we sinked in our separate beds (was supposed to be one conjugal bed) knowing that we have a wake up call at 6:00 AM. As it turns out, completely unnecessary, since the kitchen staff eagerly started their breakfast prep at 5:15 AM. So , the facilities are great, but this shinny hotel totally dropped the ball at what is supposed to be the main service, providing the guests a restful night 😞!
