Hotel Ganges Grand - Varanasi

I have mixed feelings while submitting a review for a couple of reasons. I was very happy when I received a call if I want to be picked up from Railway Station, something very professional. Hotel staff greeted us with smile. Rooms are small with no windows, which is a bummer. The AC, TV, Water heater etc was functioning. There was a faulty light which they didn't fix despite requesting. Coming to restaurant, veg options are less but the quality of food is good. One thing I did not like was during checkout. We had requested the reception guy that we will check out at 12 pm instead of 11 to which he agreed. Apparently, he did not communicate it to the guy who took over the duty and the new guy ended up misbehaving with my wife. She had to request him not to be rude and we will check out immediately which we did. Everyone was polite and nice except the reception guy on the day of our check out.

1. Centrally located at the most ideal place at Godowlia Chowk. 2. At walkable distance from Kashi Vishwanath temple. 3. Very near to the auto stand so that walking is minimal for reaching various locations such as Dashwamedh ghat,Assi Ghat and Ravidas ghat for Cruise journey. 4. Very close to the famed eateries of Varanasi.||5. Upkeep of hotel is good.||6. Dining hall is very spacious though costwise on higher side.||7. The travel desk should be more active towards guests.||8.My advice to guests is to request for pick up and drop facility,as otherwise you may face problems due to traffic restrictions.

We had booked at this hotel based on the information we got on Agoda App. Centrally located but in a crowded and noisy neighborhood. The cleanliness was bad and rooms are very average and what they advertise as cottages are just wood panneled rooms with hardly any ventilation. Having been totally deceived we wanted to cancel the booking and go elsewhere but the manager was extremely rude and harassed us by calling the police and insisting that we pay the entire amount for our 3 day booking. A really horrid experience will never recommend this hotel to anyone

This hotel is conveniently located near the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, making it an ideal choice for anyone visiting Varanasi. The location is perfect, with easy access to autos and nearby attractions. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, and the service is top-notch. The food is also fantastic—definitely a highlight of our stay. As a pleasant surprise, we were upgraded to a better room, which made our experience even more memorable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Varanasi!

Booked two superior delux rooms for four nights stay. As per Agoda site, room is with sofa, sitting place, fridge, drier, news paper etc. Nothing was on ground and hotel washed off their hands blaming Agoda. Per night charge for a room was 5500/- without breakfast. Front desk staff totally unfriendly and rude. Room was too small and no place to keep luggages and to move . No ventilation exept an exhaust fan. Open cheating.

Overall, our experience was very good. Rooms were clean. Restaurant was excellent. Food was of great quality. Service was excellent. Specially mentioning Bhim, who provided great service at the restaurant. Can improve laundry service and the quality of beds/pillows.

The property is very different from what it projects. We cancelled our booking through agoda because we did not like the hotel. The manager was rude and refused to let us out locking the entrance. We had already paid 10000 as advance. He forced us to pay 25,000 and this was negotiated with the police. Agoda promised to refund the money accepting cancellation but he still took this amount and arrested us.

In one word AWESOME experience during my 3 days stay along with my family. Everything was perfect during my stay. This property is at the best location of Varanasi. Kashi Vishwanath temple and other few spots are in just walkable distance. Pros: 1. Great location 2. Very clean rooms with all modern amenities 3. Very very polite behaviour of hotel staff. 4. Great buffet breakfast 5. Awesome food at their in-house restaurant 6. Very transparent about billing and related charges There is no negative point from my side and I am looking forward to choose only this property wherever I will come at Varanasi.
