NillWe recently stayed at Hotel Square Inn during our trip to Varanasi. While our initial impression was that of a decent 3-star hotel, several issues arose that significantly affected our experience. Bathroom Issues: Upon check-in, we encountered a problem with the shower in our room. The water splashed everywhere, making it difficult to use. When I called the service staff, they informed me that the issue could only be fixed the following morning. Unfortunately, this never happened. Instead, we were left to use a bucket and ladle for bathing. While I’m accustomed to this, it was disappointing that the hotel didn't fix the problem when we returned later in the day or at least offer a courtesy follow-up. Additionally, there was a problem with the hot water supply. The hotel staff would turn off the heater at certain times. If we wanted to take a bath after 8 p.m., we had to call the reception to turn it back on, which would take around 30-40 minutes. This inconvenience should have been avoided with a more customer-friendly approach. Dining Experience: The timing of meal service was another major issue. For some reason, the hotel only serves dinner starting at 8 p.m., but even at that time, only 1 or 2 dishes would be available at the banquet, with the rest still being prepared. This also happened at breakfast. The scheduled time for breakfast was 7:30 a.m., but the full spread wasn't ready until closer to 8 a.m. This lack of punctuality defeated the purpose of having set meal times, and it was frustrating since we paid for both breakfast and dinner as part of our room booking. It’s reasonable to expect the food to be prepared and served on time. Language Barrier: One of the biggest challenges we faced was the lack of English-speaking staff. Apart from one employee, most of the staff couldn’t communicate in English, which made it extremely difficult for us to get the help we needed. I had to resort to using sign language in some cases. Considering English is India’s second language, it was surprising that a hotel in such a popular tourist area didn’t have more staff proficient in English, especially in the hospitality industry. Check-out Experience: At check-out, I was upset with the kitchen staff because it took them over 10-15 minutes to prepare a simple coffee, despite the fact that it should have been ready much earlier. To make matters worse, when I expressed my frustration to the receptionist, he surprised me by accusing us of not paying for our lunch and tea. I explained that I had paid the night before to the staff on duty during dinner. Instead of checking with her, he continued to accuse us of not paying. This left a very bad impression, especially since our payment record was not properly updated. Additionally, we were owed a refund of 20 rupees, which was never returned, though at that point I didn't care about it. Final Thoughts: In my experience, this kind of service is not typical, especially in South India where even 3-star hotels offer exceptional service, and staff are able to communicate effectively in English. Unfortunately, our experience at Hotel Square Inn fell far below our expectations.

NillWe from Malaysia through AIP package-Their hospitality was good from the first day we checked in 3rd September till we checked out 6th September...Special mention of the hotel staff 'Kushi' she was very warm and respectful towards us. We were well attended by the female receptionist too. The only setback was the male staffs in the dining area having language barriers as they couldn't speak and understand English at all. Overall great service and the food was yumm.. Definitely a go to place again 😊

At reception girl Ms.Divya is awesome, she is incredible. Even the best part is Manager (Mr. Rai) of the property personally meet me and ask the feedback and assured comfortable stay. The room was immaculate, spacious, and equipped with all the amenities I needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the linens were crisp and clean. The hotel's facilities, including the lobby area and Kids play area , were well-maintained and spotless. The breakfast was impressive, with a wide variety of options to suit every taste. What truly sets Square Inn apart, however, is the exceptional service. Every staff member I encountered was warm, friendly, and eager to assist. They genuinely seemed to care about my experience and made me feel valued. I would highly recommend Square Inn to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay. Nillwe visited this hotel as part of our Varanasi trip with a group of 30 people. The staff is very welcoming And accommodating. Very clean rooms and excellent and bathrooms. The food is very tasty and hygienic. This hotel is bang for the buck. Don't trust the negative reviews. Go for it. This is like a 3 star hotel with 5 start service
