Basant Watika Homestay

Basant Watika is conveniently located📍 in the heart of Mall Road, which is its primary advantage, offering easy access to shops and local attractions. However, the experience leaves much to be desired beyond the location. The cleanliness of the rooms was disappointing😕. The blankets appeared to be unwashed and in need of a refresh, with signs of long-term neglect. Additionally, the walls were visibly dirty, which gave the room an unkempt feel. While the caretaker was friendly and helpful, it seemed like the owner hasn’t been maintaining the property or its amenities adequately. Overall, the stay was average. The central location is a plus, but improvements in cleanliness and upkeep are needed to make it a more enjoyable experience.

Great place. We booked two rooms; A four bedroom and a double bedroom. The rooms are affordable, clean and assisted by great service. Hot water was also available with Kettle and Geezer. So nice and comfy in winters. The location is great too especially in winters with rooms facing the sun.

This is a really nice place specially for budget travellers. The owner is very helpful. The location is quite prime. Everything is easily accessible. The rooms were clean and good considering the price. Definately recommend!

I am really pleased by many things. Words are less to describe the property, hospitality offered by care takers and the conversation with the owner (Mr. Rajat). My overall experience was extremely satisfying. Me and my family really enjoyed staying over. It is indeed recommended to stay and experience the joyfulness.

Experience was worst. They initially spoke to us and confirmed us the room. There was some confusion between the owner and the staff because of which they called us multiple times for vacating the room and moving to a smaller room. Owner is an extremely rude person with no basic manners to talk to a women. If there was a chance to give a negative rating I would have done that. There are multiple other option in that location better to check those out.

The owner of this property is a rouge, very rude to his clients, extremely commercial and arrogant, the owners are people without values and ethics, if girls comming alone or only girls group better don't book here, very unsafe as well. And also the bedsheets where not changed, we insisted to give fresh bedsheets and then only fresh ones where given. Overall a very terrible and pathetic experience.

At the cost of Rs800 per night for four it is not a bad stay.Three rooms were there. One with double bed and rest two single bed. Running hot water available. But a little more cleaning require.Very small spider was present inside false ceiling, which was dropping on bed from there. The view from the room was nice. Balcony also. Caretaker was good and appear within 5min of calling. Many good restora is available just beside this and location is good, just at mall road. Entry point is little bit dirty and stairs are steep.But again I will say, at this price the homestay was fine. I will recommend to visit.

Nice place to stay on the mall road at very affordable price. The room and the washroom was very much clean. I stayed there with my husband and a 4 year old kid and I didn't found any issues regarding the location and cleanliness of this place.
