★★★★★What a lovely tranquil place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. The wildlife around the resort is spectacular. The staff were all friendly and efficient. The food in the restaurant was very good and also the snacks we had in the garden bar. Whilst there we walked to the Perriyar Tiger sanctuary and also a couple of the local cultural displays.|Highly recommend a stay here.

Nill“The Best Hotel Experience in Kerala” Spice Village is truly the best hotel we visited during our 15-day trip across Kerala. Every detail of this property makes it special. The hotel is stunning, with an unbeatable level of service and exceptional food. The activities organized by the hotel were incredible, and every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. The room details added to the magic of the experience. A special mention to Anka, who accompanied us on several excursions. It was her first job, and we all wish her great success in life—she was amazing! We rarely meet people like her during our travels, even in other 5-star hotels. Spice Village is an extraordinary place where everything feels wonderful. Highly recommended!

★★★★★CGH Spice Village at Kumily, Thekkady is a uniquely themed hotel providing an authentic experience in the midst of nature. Their well equipped, spacious and clean thatched cottages surrounded by 100+ species of trees are extremely comfortable. The delicious cuisine of pickles, jams, local recipes were simply a gastronomic delight. Activities like the birding tour, the wildlife talk, the paper making, the yoga session, the Kerala massage and spices demo are insightful. The entire staff are thoroughly professional and courteous exuding a personal touch. Naturalist Betsy whose knowledge and passion for wildlife is admirable. Indeed it was memorable stay and we highly recommend it to all

★★★★★Beautiful rustic earthy ambience. Polite, efficient, very cordial staff. Extremely clean and well maintained..huge rooms..most important is their focus and commitment to sustainability and environment friendly organic initiatives. Thoroughly enjoyed their activities, be it hand made paper making, birding, yoga, cultural program, organic farming, games, recreation, chefs demo...they don't keep a TV in their rooms, they don't need to...|The experience was made all the more enchanting by dear sweet 'Bedsy'..who was soooo informative about the farming, vegetation, climate, animals..it's not just her subject of study but also her passion.||Going to the menu...it's just fabulous, most natural authentic flavours, some wonderfully different recipes... different honeys, so many different pickles...never knew a pumpkin or bitter gourd pickle could taste so good!! It was a burst of flavours in the mouth...bajra croissant, different marmalades, banana Jam, array of mouth watering desserts...soo much to mention...live counters...|Staying at Spice village was a major highlight of our Kerala trip...

NillGreat choice for planning your stay in Thekkady. The staffs are very friendly and the hospitality is exceptional. I don't remember the names, but special mention to the lady who received us and explained things and was present during our checkout as well, the naturalist lady who accompanied us for the boating, the guy who taught us Snooker and every other staffs whom we met was exceptional. The concept of tribal huts is brilliant and there is no compromise in luxury as well. The main restaurant is very large and the food is really delicious but expensive as well. There is a cozy swimming pool near to the main restaurant. The naturalist helped in booking tickets for boating and accompanied us till the boat entry point. Usually for getting tickets for morning boating is difficult during long holidays. Need to stand in queue for a long time. But she saved us from this and we could easily access the boating without any delays. They have badminton court, basketball court and tennis court available for outdoor games. Also, there is a collection of board games available near the bar area. Highly recommend for a unique and luxurious experience 👌

★★★★★Our stay at Spice Village CGH in Thekkady was truly unforgettable – it’s more than a hotel resort; it’s an experience. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place was special. Nestled in a botanical garden filled with fragrant spices and lush greenery, Spice Village transports you to a beautifully crafted world, with each cottage designed to offer a charming luxurious nature friendly spacious accommodation.||Although we stayed for only one night, we were able to sample many of the experiences they offer. We joined a complimentary cooking class, learning to make Keralan fish in coconut sauce. We were also treated to an evening of Indian classical dance. The other complimentary activities included a lecture by a naturalist on the herbs, spices, and plants native to the area. The afternoon chai masala, accompanied by local Keralan sweets, was a wonderful touch that added to the cultural immersion - we loved the helpful service and attentiveness by all the resort staff through out our stay.||The cottages themselves are impressive, with spacious bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms. The beds were incredibly comfortable – giant-sized and perfect for a restful night. Our room was thoughtfully stocked with freshly ground cardamom coffee and a selection of teas in glass jars, ready to enjoy at any moment. The entire atmosphere around the grounds was infused with the delightful scents of spices and plants, adding a sensory richness to the experience.||Spice Village’s commitment to eco-friendliness is evident in every detail, and the service was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to anticipate our needs before we even realized them! The check-in was smooth and welcoming, complete with a refreshing welcome drink, and every meal was a delight. When it came time to leave, we truly had a hard time saying goodbye. Our early checkout was met seamlessly at 4 am, with the team ready to assist with luggage and even a beautifully packed breakfast box for our journey.||Spice Village CGH is more than a resort – it’s a unique journey into the beauty, culture, and flavors of Kerala. Our stay was booked by a travel agency but after the amazing experience, I looked this resort up to research it in greater detail online, and found out that CGH Earth group has several other theme-based resorts across South India. After our exceptional stay, I am already planning to experience their other locations. Thank you, Spice Village, for a stay that we will never forget!

NillSpectacular!! Never imagined such a beautiful and well managed property in a small town like Thekkady. We enjoyed every bit of our stay, it's a paradise for nature lovers. Their Environmental Responsibility concept and initiatives are very respectful and commendable. Their well curated activities and facilities ensure that you are always engaged, especially for kids it's an amazing experience (no complaints from kids on Spice Village's No TV concept 😀) Service and staff behaviour were excellent, you'll always find pleasant faces around, ready to assist you in anything and everything! Definitely a heaven on earth experience. Worth every bit of the money spent.
