Wayanad Three Roots Stay

I usually don’t write negative reviews, but my experience at Three Roots Resort was unacceptable. The owner’s behavior was shockingly rude and unprofessional. Instead of addressing concerns politely, he was dismissive and even aggressive when we raised valid issues during our stay. Hospitality should begin with respect and empathy, especially when guests are paying for a peaceful getaway. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. The way we were treated made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. The location may be nice, but no amount of scenery can make up for poor management and lack of basic courtesy. I hope the resort takes this feedback seriously and makes some much-needed changes to how guests are treated—starting at the top. Not recommended unless you’re okay risking your vacation on the whims of an unprofessional owner.

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at Three Roots Resort was so disappointing that I felt compelled to warn others. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was a complete letdown. The property looked nothing like the pictures online — it felt neglected, poorly maintained, and far from the “luxurious getaway” they claim to offer. The surroundings were noisy, chaotic, and hardly relaxing. Even the seating areas were uncomfortable and dirty, making it impossible to sit back and enjoy the space. As for the service, it was even worse. The staff seemed uninterested and untrained, with zero sense of hospitality. We were left waiting for long periods without any attention, and when we finally did get someone’s help, they were rude and dismissive. Basic requests were ignored, and any attempt to escalate concerns was met with indifference. Overall, the experience was a huge waste of time and money. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-managed retreat, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Three Roots Resort was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had.

I had high hopes for this resort, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The room was outdated and not properly cleaned—there was dust on surfaces and a musty smell that never went away. The air conditioning barely worked, and the bathroom fixtures were rusty. Customer service was shockingly poor. Staff were unresponsive and sometimes even rude when we raised concerns. We also experienced long waits for basic amenities like towels or room service, and some of the advertised services (like the spa and shuttle) were either unavailable or required extra fees that weren’t mentioned upfront. The food was mediocre at best—overpriced and lacking variety. The buffet was the same every day, and many dishes were cold or poorly cooked. Overall, this resort does not live up to its rating or the price tag. I would not recommend staying here.

The staff were rude and unhelpful, treating guests like a nuisance rather than paying customers. The room was filthy—stains on the sheets, mold in the bathroom, and a lingering odor that made it nearly impossible to sleep. The amenities were a joke. The “pool” was murky and overcrowded, the spa was closed without warning, and the so-called “restaurant” served overpriced, bland food that made some of us sick. We also had to wait hours for basic service like room cleaning or fresh towels. Worst of all, management didn’t care. We raised multiple complaints and were met with indifference or empty promises that were never fulfilled. This place is overpriced, poorly managed, and downright unsanitary. Save yourself the disappointment—go literally anywhere else.

I recently stayed at a resort in Kerala, and I must say it was a major letdown. Despite the scenic location, the overall experience was far from relaxing. The room was poorly maintained, with damp walls and a constant musty odor. Basic amenities like hot water and functioning Wi-Fi were unreliable throughout our stay. Customer service was disorganized and inattentive. Requests took forever to be addressed, and there was a general lack of hospitality you’d expect from a resort in such a tourist-friendly region. The food was mediocre at best, with very limited options and questionable hygiene. What was meant to be a peaceful getaway turned into a stressful experience. I would not recommend this resort to anyone looking for quality or comfort in Kerala.

Three roots restaurant was GOOD & we had a jolly good time there.I went with my family & the stay was comfortable. The ambience was awesome.The swimming pool was well -maintained.There were small shelters ( huts) made out of hay in the park area.That was pretty good & with the surroundings of lawn it gave a wonderful look.There was a watch tower (tree house)& we enjoyed climbing it.Best of all is,the weather cooperated well, with mild showers then & there-Thank God! * Quality Food was served & the taste was delicious 😋 Thus it was a happy & enjoyable trip for us.Thanks to Three Roots restaurant & their team!
