Sarafgarh Nature Camp

The stay and location at Sarafgarh Nature Camp were good, and lunch and breakfast were excellent. Unfortunately, the dinner experience was a complete failure. My wife and I waited over an hour to be served. Despite repeated follow-ups, we were told “5 minutes” again and again, but no one bothered to serve us. Meanwhile, the family sitting next to us received prompt service, hot food, and multiple varieties. As vegetarians, we were treated unfairly despite paying the same amount as everyone else. We were served the same paneer sabzi and dal that had already been served at lunch, and the same leftover food was again served at dinner—clearly not fresh—along with plain maida roti and beans-aloo bhaja. When we asked for alternatives, we were told items were unavailable, while other guests were served fresh veg and non-veg dishes. Worst of all, no site manager was available to handle the issue—typical government-style apathy. This is unacceptable. If proper service cannot be managed, a buffet system should be introduced. I would never recommend dinner here, especially for vegetarians. Extremely disappointed.

It's an amazing experience. Breathtaking views and silent atmosphere. The staffs are nice and innocent. They were very cooperative. It's a must visit place. 1 star deduction was because of the food which can be improved.

I have never visited a nature camp in Odisha so badly organised. The rooms are not ready till 1.30 pm. Toilet flush is not working properly and no one bothers to fix it. I with my family members have to wait till 2.30 for lunch. We stood outside waiting for hours and dinner was available at10 pm. Walking up and down to reach dinning hall many times for food is a challange .

Sharing my first experience with Odisha Eco Tour at Sarafgarh Nature Camp, Odisha. My husband and I arrived around 12:30 PM, excited for the trip, and enjoyed a positive stay in the clean cottage, where staff provided helpful guidance about the area. Food Service Issues: Meals did not follow the published timelines, causing disappointment. Lunch arrived around 2:30 PM despite good quality and options for vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Snacks and other meals were similarly delayed. Dinner Shortcomings: The vegetarian dinner was particularly disappointing, repeating the same lunch menu with rotis made from maida instead of whole wheat. Management should provide advance instructions on vegetarian options or maintain alternatives to improve satisfaction. Recommendations: Implement a buffet system to allow guests to enjoy meals calmly without coordinating with staff. Day visitors will appreciate the scenic location near Sarafgarh Dam and reservoir, but overnight stays may face dinner challenges.

Place was lovely but staff service was worst...rooms were not good.... Food was not served in time... lunch was served cold...no bed tea... No staff would ever come to ask if we needed anything... No spoon,no jug,no salt pepper or anything on the table ..we had go repeatedly to the kitchen to ask for anything we needed as no staffs would be there in the dinning hall to ask if we needed anything..they all would be busy chit chatting in the kitchen... Was really disappointed with my visit....

Mobile network is not available for Jio , Vodaphone etc. Only airtel and BSNL,that too at one specific point inside the premises

It was an incredibly enjoyable experience. The camp was nestled amidst beautiful scenery, surrounded by rolling hills and tranquil waters. The picturesque views alone were worth the trip. What made this nature camp even more memorable were the various fun options available. There were numerous activities to choose from. Overall, my experience at the nature camp was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of breathtaking scenery, a multitude of activities, and a warm atmosphere made for an unforgettable retreat. I would highly recommend this camp to anyone seeking a nature-filled adventure and a rejuvenating escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
