We recently had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful Muskotia retreat in Pangot. The hosts, Mr. Gagan and his wife, were warm and welcoming, generously sharing their deep knowledge about the area and its hidden gems. The resort itself is a beautiful place surrounded by gorgeous natural landscape and had amazing views of the Himalaya mountains and peaks. The place is surrounded by dense forests, blooming wildflowers, and the soothing sounds of chirping birds, it’s a paradise for nature lovers. The air was cool and refreshing making our visit even more beautiful. The food is an absolute delight—authentic local cuisine that’s both flavorful and unique to the region. Overall, Muskotia is a one-of-a-kind retreat, made even more special by the gracious hospitality of its wonderful hosts.

Once you reach Gugukham Tiraha, the resort’s shuttle takes you on a short yet thrilling 800-meter ride over a rugged trail that sets the tone for an adventure immersed in nature. This quaint two-room property is lovingly run by a warm and welcoming couple, Mr. Gagan and Mrs. Rukmani Anand, who personally take care of every detail to ensure guests feel at home. The setting is deeply rooted in the local Kumaoni culture, preserving the charm and authenticity of village life while offering comfort and tranquility. For day visitors who book in advance, Muskotia serves a delicious Pahadi Thali, rich with local flavors. In-house guests are treated to a delightful variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all made with love and care. Adding to the charm, the Anands also curate and sell homemade products like tea masala, chili garlic salt, rosemary salt, and other artisanal seasonings. Their unique vinegars, such as banana and plum, are also worth trying and taking home as a memory of this special place. I had the pleasure of spending a day here with my family and friends, and all of us were deeply impressed by the heartfelt hospitality, the pristine setting, and the soul-satisfying food. Amazing getaway from the busy lifes. Amongst the scenic beauty of snow clas mountains and greenery. They have a cozy cottage with many amenities and very warm host. They take you off roading to reach the resort which is a new experience all together. The food is amazing very earthy and homely.
