Athavan

We stayed at Athavan Villa in Panchgani over Diwali, and it was amazing! We were a group of 15, and the villa was perfect for our family, with both older and younger members enjoying every bit of it. The place is super spacious and really clean, with beautiful views all around. It honestly felt like a home away from home. The management was great and took care of everything we needed. They were always available to help out, and it was clear they really cared about making sure we had a good time. From the cozy rooms to the common areas where we could all gather, everything was just right. If you’re looking for a peaceful, scenic getaway with your family, I’d definitely recommend Athavan Villa. This place made our Diwali vacation unforgettable!

We recently stayed at this villa for a family trip of 13 people. The villa’s location is superior with amazing views directly from the drawing room and bed rooms. The care taker was provided and he was helping for all the small items to get for us. Next to villa, there was a restaurant so if you do not want to arrange cooking food at Villa then its fine too. Few small things can be improved in the villa but these are nominal things. Overall we enjoyed the stay with amazing views.

We visited this property recently over the weekend. The location is very beautiful. its a beautiful and very well maintained property. Staff is kind and available whenever needed. The only thing that we were little unhappy was the food arrangements. you cannot order anything at the last minute as the staff needs to go to market to buy stuff. But overall we had a good stay at this place.

A last minute plan to visit Mahabaleshwar from a planned ahead trip to Pune, gave us limited choices for stay. We explored places nearby Mahabaleshwar and ended up with Atthavan Villa in Panchgani. It was within our budget and most importantly the host confirmed our booking shortly after expressing our interest. I am calling this out as some of the places that we inquired that were more expensive either did not respond on time or cancelled the booking 24 hours within blocking the place with a hold on the amount paid by the banking company (only to be release a few days later) I had a lot of questions as we were four families, with some of them having young children. The responses came with honesty recommending food options around, instead of restricting us to the cooking services that were available at the property. Still with a skeptical mind we landed in the property in Panchgani, after almost an hour and half of being stranded with the wrong google map address. Then we followed the pin shared by the host and promptly ended here after a frustrating experience in the bumper to bumper traffic. As we entered the property through a narrow tunnel the Atthavan looked very simple from outside, but as we entered the three level house, the fantastic view from the living room was captivating. As we picked rooms we got lucky to get to the one of the two rooms in the lower level, which had the same beautiful view that we got from the living room. Two bedrooms were located on the ground level, followed by a sunken living room and three other bedrooms located on either side of the lower ground level. Easily accessible, all the rooms were spacious with comfortable beds, equipped with tv, curtains for privacy and a tea coffee amenity kit with a kettle. Extra cushion beds were available in the property that made it easy for the four families to comfortably stay, though most of the time we spent time in the living room enjoying the view. The living room was spacious with a large TV, though it lacked subscriptions to channels, thankfully with the wifi we managed to play some videos to keep the kids engaged. The place comes with multiple wifi's that covers the massive expanse of the villa, the speed with good without any lags while playing videos. Adjacent to the living was a large dining table and an extension to the kitchen, which has basic amenities to cook, and serveware enough for us to drink our chai and plates and cutlery for food that we had ordered from outside. There was a house help, Jethu, who was available to us throughout the stay and was extremely helpful in running some quick errands for us for getting food, from nearby and slightly far off places around. Atthavan in Marathi means memories and this villa is where we made great memories with close friends, though the stay was short, it was extremely memorable, thanks to our host Vivek who was available to assist us for anything that we need and a big thanks to his recommendation on the Kolhapuri Mutton dish from the nearby Dhangarwadi Restaurant. It was loved by the non-vegetarians, and me being a vegetarian that day, had to wait for my next visit to devour this.

We rented this place in the month of July and it was just amazing. The view of valley from the balcony is breath taking. Spacious rooms, and the care taking services provided by the owner is also good. I would rate this villa with 4 stars.

We stayed in this property recently. The rooms were clean and view was great. But we got absolutely no amenities. They were charging exorbitantly for every little things. They charged Rs.1000 for the gas which was suppose to be there for us and within our package. The cook they provided charged Rs. 3500 just for some snacks and dinner. The owner Mr. Vivek was infringing our privacy by knocking our door every now and then and prying if we are keeping the fan on or if the curtain is out of the window. Because we didn't avail his provided facilities, he misbehaved with us badly and said nikal jao mere ghar se... !! As if we were staying for free. Absolutely unacceptable behavior.

Awesome place to stay with family, magnificent lake valley view. You can find near by pure veg restaurants with Jain food. Co-opertive staff and excellent hospitality.

We, sisters, had a wonderful experience at Athavan Villa in this vacation.We really enjoyed a lot staying at this Villa.The rooms were clean, comfortable with all the facilities along with kitchen having great amenities and helping staff.And the best part of the room was Valley view surrounded with nature beauty n Viewing the rising sun amdist was awesome experience . I highly recommend Athavan Villa for everyone visiting Panchgani n Mahabaleshwar.
