北京国都大饭店

I have stayed here numerous times over the past few years as I travel to China on a monthly basis. I find it quite good for my needs. My last trip my wife accompanied me and she thought the same. It's not flash but it does the job quite well. The last stay, we had what looked to be a renovated room. ||Pros - Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, close to the airport, free shuttle, plenty of food options close by. ||Cons - dated (Chinese business standard looks like this) majority of their food venues closed||Nearby restaurants whilst the language can be a barrier at times, I always find they go out of their way to help foreigners.

An airport hotel with free shuttle service, which I booked for my return from Tibet, as I was leaving China for Singapore the next day. The room was among the most economical, yet huge and comfortable. The staff was accommodating to my late arrival. Only complaint was much too long waiting for the shuttle. Almost gave up and ordered a cab, then the driver arrived. The next morning they let me stay an hour longer while I had a light snack. I was booked on Singapore Air the rest of my trip and knew I'd be well fed on my 6 hour fight. The return shuttle arrived on time, and I saw, to my regret, a Subway restaurant at the end of the street, sadly closed when I arrived, but if only I had more time. Really good hotel. I never asked if there was a subway nearby, as if there was it might be a good bet to get around Beijing. For the airport, superb.

一家提供免费班车服务的机场酒店，是我从西藏返回时预订的，因为第二天我就要离开中国前往新加坡。房间是最经济的房间之一，但又宽敞又舒适。工作人员很包容我迟到的情况。唯一的抱怨是等待班车的时间太长了。几乎放弃了，叫了一辆出租车，然后司机就到了。第二天早上，他们让我多待一个小时，同时我吃了点小吃。我在余下的旅程中预订了新加坡航空的航班，我知道我会在 6 小时的飞行中吃饱。返程班车准时到达，令我遗憾的是，当我到达时，我看到街道尽头的一家赛百味餐厅不幸关门了，但如果我有更多时间就好了。真的很好的酒店。我从来没有问过附近是否有地铁，好像有的话可能是游览北京的一个不错的选择。对于机场来说，非常棒。

I stayed one night as a layover being close to the airport. The hotel is old, has stale, moldy smell as soon as you enter the hotel. This smell persisted to the room. The room itself was large, with good amenities. I think cleaning lady do clean. Yet caulking in the bathroom had black mold which bothered me. It is easy to fix it, you know? Breakfast was good with decent selections. There was a shuttle to the airport. I emailed them to get the time table to use shuttle to the airport but they never sent me so I used cab. I post the recent time table. Staff were not friendly but some spoke English.

The location is very convenient and the hotel may be the best value for your money near the airport. Perfect for a 1 night transit passenger. Other hotels may be closer to the airport, have bigger rooms, and more amenities, but will likely cost you 2 to 3 times more. Rooms and beds are small but functional and fine for 1 night. Bathroom is stocked with 2 toothbrushes and small tubes of toothpaste. Several inexpensive restaurants, a convenience store, and a pharmacy are across the street. We liked the hot pot restaurant where the 4 of us ate very, very well for 200 RMB. Area is quiet without much traffic which was nice. Shuttle bus runs from the airport to the hotel at 15 minutes past the hour (starting at 05:15) and from the hotel to the airport on the hour (starting at 05:00). Not sure when the last shuttle is. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel and it cost us 20 RMB. We would definitely stay here again.

The room is spacious and clean. Front desk check-in staff do not understand that they are the ambassadors and face of the hotel. They see their job narrowly as merely checking in guests. They see it as an inconvenient imposition when I asked them questions related to public transport, shops around the neighborhood, maps of Beijing, etc. The twice-daily shuttle bus to city is good. The hotel runs a shuttle to and from the airport every hour. You get what you pay for, no more, no less.

房间宽敞干净。前台办理入住的工作人员不明白他们是酒店的大使和门面。他们狭隘地认为自己的工作仅仅是为客人办理入住手续。当我向他们询问有关公共交通、附近商店、北京地图等问题时，他们认为这是一种不方便的强加。每天两趟往返市区的班车很好。酒店每小时有一趟往返机场的班车。你得到你付出的代价，不多也不少。

I stayed here to catch a flight at 7:30am the next morning. My flight from Shanghai to Beijing arrived at 12:30am, I called hotel on arrival in Beijing and they told me the shuttle service had finished for the day. No taxis would take me the relatively short distance without demanding exorbitant fares, so I had to walk the 3km to the hotel at 2am in the morning. When I got to the hotel I found a very tired property, reminded me of being back in 1980s China, nothing modern or exciting. Room was old and tired but clean. But worst thing was that at 3:30 in the morning someone tried to come into my room, they had the key card and opened the door but I had the 'arm' latch on and they could not get the door very far open. It wasn't a drunk businessman coming back to the hotel as the person was silent in approaching the room and in leaving, I jumped up to see who it was but they had silently left. Drunks will make a LOT of noise. I had to leave at 5am so no time to report to manager. The shuttle service is not great either, only 1 an hour and bus seems so old that driver restricts his speed as he can't seem to get into third gear. Also, being close to airport quite nosy at times, plane noise and some idiots honking car horn at 4am.

The breakfast buffet is amazing. There is all types/styles of food choices. Made to order omelets available. The room was ok and very clean. The hotel staff had limited english speaking skills and presented challenges when trying to communicate a need.

自助早餐很棒。有各种类型/风格的食物选择。提供现点现做的煎蛋卷。房间很好而且很干净。酒店工作人员的英语口语能力有限，在尝试沟通需求时遇到了挑战。

Clean and comfortable bed. It located in good neighborhood. You can buy local food and beer.
