Zi Neng Xue Guan Hotel

We stayed three nights at this BEAUTIFUL hotel, that included Chinese breakfast and never wanted to leave. Our visit was to see the Jianchuan Museum Cluster, but we also were blocks away from Anren Ancient Town - a touristy pedestrian street that was a pleasure to walk thru...but that's another two reviews.||||ROOMS: We had three different rooms while we were there, all with super high wooden ceilings and up-lighting. One with double beds, another Queen room, and lastly a "family room" with a queen and a double. All beds were comfortable, and extra bedding, western bath (although in one of the rooms, the toilet was IN the shower *_*) Wifi - stronger in some rooms, TV, air conditioning, and hot water kettle. Good sized rooms, windows opened, and doors were adorable with old fashioned wood slides, and padlocks. One of the rooms had a patio that opened to a store front street, but separated by a "moat" and lovely foliage.||||LOCATION/OTHER: Chinese style breakfast of rice porridge, boiled egg and steamed bun were included. Seating in the open courtyard made you feel like you were in ancient China. The courtyard included some wells, a library/meeting room, the reception desk, and beautiful trees. We were within walking distance to restaurants, and historic area. There was even a free paper currency museum right next door. This hotel entrance is NOT ACCESSIBLE by car, you have to walk a short distance from about a block away with your luggage but SO WORTH IT!||||Note: They were unable to process our US credit cards, so we were stuck paying cash. But the staff was very helpful and wanted to accommodate.||||Almost forgot, there was an annual Chinese dress festival going on in mid-July that included models in traditional dress.
