Weizhou Island e Bay Sea View No.1 Hotel

Get this hotel!!! We were supposed to stay for a night and then decide what to do - we ended up staying 3 nights and were very sad to leave.Every so often when you travel your hotel experience significantly improved your holiday - this was one of those cases! First of all the basics, we were looking for a nice family friendly hotel walking distance from the beach - and this certainly fit that category. The rooms are fine, you could see the sea from the windows, comfortable beds, pretty clean, slippers, plenty of towels, wifi everywhere etc. There was also a small playground for small kids and hammocks (picture) etc which was cool, we also saw mahjong tables, but didn't have the time to play.The hotel is located near a fairly large field, filled with exotic birds, butterflies and crickets etc. There were also geckos everywhere (love them), but we didn't see any inside the room. There were some mosquitos outside on the terrace (don't love them), but the repellent took care of those and we didn't have any in our rooms. Felt like you were near nature, in a good way.The kids loved to play on the beach, it's great for sand castles (the hotel had buckets and shovels free of charge) and searching for crabs, fish, shells, sea snails etc... The moms loved it too, especially to walk around and explore during low tide. (the hotel also provided equipment to catch crabs and other sea creatures etc if you wanted to - they also had a service to cook them for you) We especially enjoyed playing under a nearby pier during low tide to avoid getting badly sunburned.The supermarket across the street sell dozens of single malt whiskys and beer from all over the world (they also have ice cream and other stuff) - and the dads recommend the roof terrace for that after the kids are asleep. (picture)If you know how to ride a scooter/ebike they rent them across the road too, and it's the best way to explore the island. The small roads (almost devoid of cars) were awesome to drive on, just remember to stay safe.I don't usually care much about breakfast, but the included breakfast was great! (picture) The kitchen staff was also super laid-back about the whole thing - this whole hotel radiated a very laid back tropical island feel that made you forget you were in China.However the reason I write this review is because of the owner. (last picture) (I'm not sure if he speaks English though, but I'm sure you'll manage) Super chill guy! Immediately after booking he contacted us to arrange the transport from the boat. He helped us buy tickets for the trip back. He was willing to come and pick us up at any time if we got lost on the island. He had great recommendations about basically everything, and whenever we made plans we were sure to ask for his advice. He was basically always reachable over wechat too.These are just some of the things that he didn't have to provide, but did (or offered): unlimited cold drinking water, ice, proper glasses, a coffee grinder, buckets, shovels, hats, umbrellas, sunscreen, aloe vera plants, flashlights, mosquito repellent etc etc and it feels like we only scratched the surface. It feels like whenever I asked him for something he always had a solution that exceeded my expectations. Great host!I've traveled to almost 100 countries and while this wasn't the fanciest hotel I've stayed in by any means, this was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I've ever had. If anyone I know plans to visit this island I will for sure recommend this place.

一定要住这家酒店！！！我们原本打算住一晚再决定下一步行程，结果住了三晚，离开的时候非常不舍。旅行中，酒店体验有时会极大地提升整个假期的幸福感——这次就是其中之一！首先，我们想找一家适合家庭入住、步行即可到达海滩的酒店——这家酒店完全符合我们的要求。房间很不错，从窗户就能看到海景，床很舒服，也比较干净，还提供拖鞋、充足的毛巾、覆盖全酒店的无线网络等等。酒店里还有一个小型儿童游乐场和吊床（如图），非常棒。我们还看到了麻将桌，可惜没时间玩。酒店附近有一片相当大的草地，里面栖息着各种珍奇鸟类、蝴蝶和蟋蟀等等。到处都是壁虎（我们很喜欢它们），不过我们在房间里没看到。露台上有一些蚊子（我不喜欢蚊子），但驱蚊剂解决了这个问题，房间里也没有蚊子。感觉就像置身于大自然之中，非常惬意。孩子们喜欢在沙滩上玩耍，这里非常适合堆沙堡（酒店免费提供水桶和铲子），还可以寻找螃蟹、鱼、贝壳、海螺等等。妈妈们也很喜欢这里，尤其是在退潮时漫步探索。（酒店还提供捕捉螃蟹和其他海洋生物的工具，如果您想自己动手的话——他们也提供烹饪服务。）我们特别喜欢在退潮时在附近的码头下玩耍，这样可以避免被晒伤。街对面的超市出售来自世界各地的数十种单一麦芽威士忌和啤酒（他们还出售冰淇淋和其他商品）——爸爸们推荐孩子们睡着后去屋顶露台放松一下。（图片）如果您会骑滑板车/电动自行车，马路对面也有租赁服务，这是探索这座岛屿的最佳方式。那些几乎没有车辆的小路开起来感觉棒极了，不过一定要注意安全。我通常不太在意早餐，但这家酒店包含的早餐真的很棒！（附图）厨房工作人员也都非常随和——整个酒店都散发着一种悠闲的热带岛屿风情，让你忘记自己身处中国。不过，我写这篇评论的真正原因是想感谢酒店的老板。（最后一张图）（我不确定他是否会说英语，但我相信你们应该能沟通。）他真是个超级酷的人！预订之后，他立刻联系我们安排从码头到酒店的交通。他还帮我们买了回程的船票。如果我们在岛上迷路了，他随时都愿意来接我们。他对几乎所有事情都有很好的建议，每次我们制定计划时都会征求他的意见。他基本上随时都能通过微信联系到。他完全可以不提供这些东西，但他都提供了（或者主动提出）：无限量供应的冰镇饮用水、冰块、合适的杯子、咖啡研磨机、水桶、铲子、帽子、雨伞、防晒霜、芦荟、手电筒、驱蚊剂等等等等，感觉我们只是体验了冰山一角。感觉每次我问他要什么，他总能提供超出我预期的解决方案。真是个很棒的房东！我去过将近100个国家，虽然这绝对不是我住过的最豪华的酒店，但绝对是我最难忘的酒店体验之一。如果我认识的人计划去这个岛，我一定会推荐这家酒店。
