This hotel is average but still a good option though. My room was large and clean, wifi was okay and some staff members could speak English. The main downside for me was that it was really noisy and some people kept speaking loud all night long. No breakfast included.||The location is great with many shops and restaurants around (especially one noodle restaurant in front of the Summer resort); the Summer resort is just down the street and it is quite easy to catch a taxi since the hotel is located at the junction between two big roads.

Located right across from the Summer Palace, it's a great place to stay. There are lots of places to eat around as well as banks. The room is fine. It's a Super 8, so you're not going to get luxury here. But, it's clean, spacious, has an air conditioner, and a big bathroom. I asked for a quiet room off the street and got one. ||The only issues I have really is that the room smells like smoke and the curtains are hanging off of the track. You can't curtain off the windows properly. Other than that, it's good value for the money.

There are hotels in China that are not licensed to accept foreigners but this hotel does even though it was listed on some booking sites as "for Chinese residents only". ||||Location was excellent as it was within walking distance to the Summer resort and there is a huge supermart directly across the street. Many small eateries nearby too. It is a short taxi ride from the train station and cost about 10rmb.||||While the hotel room looked a bit old with some wear and tear, it was good enough for 1 night stay with basic amenities. The heater was surprisingly working as I went at the start of Nov where most places would not have turned on heater yet. There is also an area-guide booklet in the drawer that has useful information on how to get from the hotel to different attractions and recommended eateries around the hotel. ||||On the downside, the bed was very hard and I think it will be uncomfortable to stay for too many nights. There is also a lack of fridge.||||Overall, it was a decent hotel for the price paid.

We were only here for an overnight trip and did not spend much time at the hotel. It displays the normal wear and tear you might expect from an older hotel but it was clean, and the staff was very friendly. Our room had the faint smell of lingering cigarette smoke. We should have asked for a nonsmoking one. There are basic amenities but no wash towels or lotion. ||The breakfast was okay but definitely nothing to write home about. It is inexpensive and the customer service is great. ||The location of the hotel is what makes it a good deal. There are restaurants and a night market within walking distance. Plus, it is a short walk to the main entrance of the Emperor's Summer Resort. ||The only thing that bothered me was the early morning construction. By 7AM, there was a great deal of drilling and hammering to be heard. We were already up and ready to head out for the day but it would have sent me through the roof back when I didn't have kids and was able to sleep in.

Hotel is good value for the price: clean, simple, has all basic things you need. "-" : very noisy street in front of hotel (ask for room on another side), AC is also noisy. breakfast is very chinese and simple. "+": stuff is very friendly, speak some english, room is spacious and clean, very convenient location. Take 10 min walk to The Palace, bus 6 to Puning tample, bus 118 to Putuo temple (Small Patala). 1 RMB per ride. Very tasty food in self-service buffet eatery 筷车一族。(50 meters on the left from the hotel ) which is open 6.30 - 20.30.

Central location, short bus ride away from railway and bus stations. Most staff spoke little to know English (except for one), but tried their best to communicate and meet my expectations. In fact the staff seemed more customer-oriented than in most places in China. Buffet breakfast is convenient and good value. Room was very large and clean.||||Located at a busy roundabout, and therefore lots of noise coming from the street in the late evening and early morning. It would be impossible to take a nap in the afternoon if you're in a room facing the street. Very, very slow wifi - almost impossible to get anything done.

Enjoyed my stay here as the hotel is well located in centre of city and very close to Mountain Resort. Aside from a number of good local restaurants nearby we found two places the served western food.||While the rooms are a bit dated, they were clean and at least in our case smoke free. We were here six nights and the only negative thing I could mention is the street noise but tends to be an issue a most places in China,||The room rate is very reasonable and I will stay again.||

We found this hotel to be a pleasant surprise. The location was excellent. The Summer resort and bus stop for the temples were just down the street, and a grocery store was nearby. The room was clean. The one staff member who spoke English was very helpful and polite. The hotel also had a computer with Internet access in the lobby.
