杭州大酒店

We stayed at the Hotel for 3 days. The hotel is in close proximity to shopping centres and our room offered a good view of Wulun Square (with music fountain show at 1930). The lobby is on the 8th floor and is a throw-back to the 80s, but not is a good way. Don’t expect glitz and a modern looking reception area. The front desk staff were not very friendly. The rooms are slightly tired and carpets dirty. Internet is also very slow. Although fairly good size, the bathroom is poorly designed with no where to hang towels. There was also a large crack in the sink. The wall temperature control was for show only as the room temperature remained the same whether the thermostat was set at 18 or 25. Maid service was relatively poor. They did not wash or change the cups that we used. When we left a note (in English and Chinese) asking them to change the dirty cups, pillow cases, etc, nothing was done. When we phoned the front desk, however, they did respond quickly. Breakfast is served on the 32nd floor revolving restaurant. Don’t get too excited. The resolving restaurant does not resolve but still offers a great view of the city. To get to the restaurant, you will need to take ‘outside’ elevators that offer ‘panoramic view’. There are only two of these elevators which house no more than 10 people in each. Expect long wait to and from the restaurant during busy hours in the morning. For Chinese breakfast, one can judge the food quality based on the congee and their congee was as diluted as it could be. They did attempt to change the food on a daily basis. Overall, the food was decent. There must be something better in Hangzhou.

I came here for a meal with colleagues following a visit to West Lake. The view over the city was excellent and looked beautiful in the sunset. The restaurant is a self-service buffet - I'm not normally a fan of buffet restaurants but this was much better than most, with food tasting fresh and frequently changed. Some interesting dishes for Westerners to try like braised fish head. Overall it was good, nothing exceptional but certainly not terrible.

This hotel is on one of the main shopping street and is adjacent to a shopping mall. It is also on the subway line but I didn't experience that. The room was good and the staff very helpful. Check in was quick.||I did walk from the hotel to the Lake area and it, while a fairly long walk, was worth the trip. It was a Sunday and the area was very crowded but was enjoyable. The trip via Taxi to the Hangzhou airport was approx. 50 minutes and cost approx. 120rmb. It is about a 20 minute ride from the Hangzhou East train station

The hotel is not too far from the city center: just 0.0 Km away, and it is quite near to the airport. No less exceptional is the hotel's easy access to the city's myriad attractions and landmarks, Hotel near to all the big shopping mall, such as Hangzhou department Store, INtime Mall. Its takes about 15-20mins to reach west lake. Good location about 100m to Wulin Square station.||24-hour room service, free Wi-Fi in all rooms, facilities and in public areas.

What we liked:||1. Great location in city centre||2. Revolving restaurant was great||3. Room was comfortable though dated||4. Bed was good, we had to ask for extra pillows ||||What we didn't like:||1. Western breakfast was poor with little to choose from (eggs, bacon and sausages only)||2. Mould in shower - this was an issue with 3 out of the 4 hotels was stayed at in China||3. Blind in bathroom was dirty||4. We were disturbed at 1.10am by a woman knocking at the door; she obviously had the wrong room and we sent her away. This points to the insecurity of the lifts||5. There are an inadequate number of lifts for the size of the hotel - 2 at each end - with a lot of time wasted waiting for a lift

We stayed here for a couple of nights and were comfortable enough. The rooms were clean and well resourced. The staff were curt but efficient. If you're from out of town though, it's quite the walk to West Lake and Hefang St, so pack your comfy shoes.

Typical modern faceless hotel, but quite comfortable, in a good location and good value for money. We could not find a taxi and would have missed our train if not for Caroline (one of the managers in the hotel) who took us all the way to the train station. What service! In general, people were nice and attentive.

Location is perfect for the tourists. Near to metro station. Close to shopping places like Longxianqiao and attractions like West lake cultural center. Few Muslim restaurants nearby. Hotel amenities are average. excellent view from revolving restaurant at the top.
