Lagerstroemia Insica House Zhangjiajie Coutry Garden

I stayed at the Lagerstroemia Insica House Zhangjiajie Garden (this hotel us different names, for instance Laurel House Hotel Zhangjiajie at Hotels.com) for one night as a solo traveller. I paid 40 EUR which included breakfast. It was a Chinese breakfast but they had fried eggs and som other dishes as I liked. Two bottles of water for free on the room. No deposit was charged. The standard of the room was very good in a modern western style and it was a huge at 11th floor with a mountain view. No international or English speaking/dubbed tv channels, nor did the personnel speak English. I booked through Hotels.com and the hotel have an address in Zhangjiajie city stated - which is a complete scam! This meant I first went to the city looking for the hotel, and when I finally found out the hotel was located near Wulingyuan I had to take another taxi to get there. When I finally arrived I found out that there was nothing to do nearby, there were restaurant though and the pools were closed. The hotel is a newly built complex which already have some cracks in the ceiling and walls and it is obvious the hotel targets a Chinese group tour clientele as it is not “English friendly” at all and you have to go by bus or car wherever you go. I only stayed for one night due to a cancelled flight so for me it was ok, if you visit for exploring the national park I suggest you choose a hotel in Wulingyuan where there are better options for a lower price. I wouldn’t stay here again, not even if I had a cancelled flight as there are better alternatives closer to the airport.
