宜宾李庄古镇温馨旅社

There appears to be no listing for Wei Yuxuan Hotel in Lizhuang Old Town, but I assure you it is there. A basic rural hotel on the banks of the Yangtze River, and situated in an old, famous township, this place offers very modest accommodation but is surrounded by an interesting cultural location near Yibin, Sichuan. The bathroom is excellent and the bed is very firm (hard). There is no elevator, but the stairs lead to a rooftop relaxation area with lounges and furniture both under cover and in the open, overlooking the river. I stayed on the first floor immediately to the left of the stairs. This room has a river view. Staff spoke Mandarin only . . . this is basically a tourist area frequented by Chinese citizens. The whole town is a heritage site which housed a Shanghai university and the national treasures during the Japanese occupation in the 1930s-1940s. This historical event to the far west of China result in research by the university academics that had far reaching significance, and gave the town a special place in the hearts of Chinese people. During the war, productive research was done on re-cataloguing the treasures, and achieving significant developments in medical science. The favourite regional food includes a very thinly sliced pork dish.
