Coast Inn at Lake Hood

Not a paid Breakfast. Pipers diner is nice though and the food is pretty good. There is ALWAYS something missing in the shower so make sure it has shampoo , conditioner etc. before jumping in. Not bad for the price as long as you're not here during peak tourist season.

Stopped here on the third leg of our holiday after picking up a car at the airport. More motel than hotel and found reception staff a bit disinterested as one just stared at her phone. Room was ready and was just ok. This is obviously a busy airport stop off and was well used. The staff in the restaurant were excellent. Friendly and helpful. Used the laundry there and took a while for our card to work. More of a convenient stop than luxury.

I will not stay in this hotel again, won't even recommend it. The staff behind the desk were rude, it was expensive, as someone stated in the reviews-it's outdated. The location is not good, maybe for the airline employees that use it, but for any other stay, it is not the best.

The main reason I chose Coast is because they offered an airport shuttle. I called when I arrived and was told a shuttle was on its way. I called again after 30 minutes and again was told the shuttle was on its way. I reconfirmed the pickup location. After standing outside in freezing temperatures for a hour I called an Uber. The front desk didn't have any explanation why the shuttle never showed up. It's only a 5 minute ride. There are plenty of other hotels to choose from if I have to depend on Uber for transportation.

We had an excellent experience at The Coast Inn. For a hotel that gets you to and from the airport, with a comfortable stay, it was just what we needed. We found the all staff to be very friendly, and we had a great Salmon BLT in the restaurant. Our room was clean and comfortable. Their free shuttle to and from the airport is efficient and easy to use. One bonus was an easy walk to the historic, and still active, float plane base. I would highly recommend The Coast Inn to any airport travelers.

Dated hotel with mean, rude, grumpy people at front counter. Over priced for what you get. While I like firm mattresses was like sleeping on a gravel road. In room wall was seeperated from floor and could easily see into crawl space

Super average hotel. Great choice if you're trying to stay near the airport. Shuttle available when you request it. Hotel does include a bar/restaurant. Overpriced like all the other hotels in Anchorage. Summer rates are more than double winter rates.

I would never stay here ever again. |as soon as we walked in to our room we knew it wasn't going to be good. the room had a funky smell to it. it was a mixture of old carpet, stale air and maybe smoking, even though this room was supposed to be non smoking.|the room was clean enough, and close to the lake, but OMG for this kind of money it was atrocious. |there were no hooks or towel rods in the bathroom. when we asked about that the front desk suggested to look behind the bathroom door. we had... one of the receptionists suggested the shower rod. |the front desk people were less than interested with any questions and quite dismissive.|there was no elevator |there was no automatic cleaning of the room, and with no where to dry our towels we need new towels. we later found out we had to ask for a cleaning, but there was no indication of that in our room.|the restaurant was good, and there was a very nice blonde lady working there.
