★Positive: This hotel is very charming and the rooms are bigger. It is an older place and hasn?t been updated in a while. However, the mattresses felt new and our entire room was very, very clean. There was a small free breakfast that was good. Negative: ""

NillWe came into Fairbanks on a train and took an Uber to Abbeys archway Inn. We come into to office to check, the office is this lady's kitchen. We are then told your room is a a different location and are handed a map. We don't know fairbanks so we assume it shouldn't be far right? Well 0.61 miles on foot with luggage is not fun. The room was on the 3rd floor, steep stairs all the way. The room was musty smelling, the pillows were flat, the furniture looked like it came from the local thrift shop. There was a hole in the blanket on the bed. Not what was advanced at all! Also there is nothing with in walking distance not even a gas station. Our weekend get away was trashed. Can't relax in a place you don't even want to take your shoes off in.

★★★Positive: It allowed pets Negative: There was no elevator, had to climb to the 3rd floor carrying bags. Only one burner on the stove worked. The faucets in both the kitchen sink and bathroom were extremely loose and hard to manipulate.

★This place is a dump. Upon our arrival, we were informed that our room would be at another location. We were transported in a construction van. When I asked where were we to go for our “free” breakfast, we were told that we would have to make our own way back to the original site. My husband has mobility issues so that was out of the question. The blanket had holes in it and there wasn’t even a bedspread. The furniture was 1970’ vintage and the floors were so dirty that I put towels down so we could wipe our feet before getting into the bed. The pictures of the rooms posted by the hotel are NOT what we experienced, and certainly no fireplace.

NillI had an extended stay here from early October - mid-November 2022. Overall, my experience here was good and I would definitely stay here again. Although the location is further from Fort Wainwright than most of the other hotels, it is one of the few places with full kitchen and stove that is actually affordable. The rooms are very nice and well-supplied with everything you need to cook your own meals. This is an added bonus since most of the restaurants, including fast food are much more expensive than what you find in the lower 48. Leisha and the cleaning staff are super-helpful and provided countless items for me whether it was extra clothes hangers, light bulbs, and additional kitchen items upon request.
