Hyatt Place Phoenix/Mesa

Our first night after having a long drive in - the smoke alarm woke us up at 5am. There was smoke all of inside of our room that smelled electrical. I quickly panicked to check to check for fires in the unit. I looked outside the window and in the hall to confirm no fires from other rooms. I called the staff and a gentleman came in and asked us if it was us and if we were smoking or burning incense. Instead of looking around he started by questioning us first. Then he started to look around - we told him that we unplugged everything once we were up and checking. He couldn’t find the issue and called maintenance. Keep in mind - we are barely awake from lack of sleep and he told us to just wait outside or walk our dogs and he will let us know what happens. Instead of accommodating us another room for our safety and inconvenience. We walked our dogs and came back and still no offer or solution other than they are trying to figure out it. I asked the gentleman “hey you know it’s pretty early is there a way we can get another room?” And he seemed surprised that I asked but he said he will check with his manager. Maybe 20 mins later we get moved to a different room that didn’t match our room but we took what we could get. Of course the new room is dirty and there is blood on the shower curtain. Lol. They said they had no other rooms for me. I opened a ticket with Hyatt and I was told that management would reach out to me that day. Nothing in two days now and I’m back home. They said there’s a case number open and that someone will reach out to me. Well now I’m home and nothing, no sorry no complementary anything. Terrible.

One of the best hotels I have ever been to. Clean beds, clean rooms, staff was kind and professional. It’s nice going to a hotel when the staff don’t treat you like an imposition to their day, so this place gets my 5 stars. Breakfast had tons of variety, was hot, and plenty to go around. Highly recommend this place and WILL be back!

There’s a lot of oddly mixed reviews of this hotel so I wanted to try and say how I felt.||Firstly, I don’t think this is a bad hotel, but I do not think it deserves a 4.5 review score. We would stay here again without any issues, but we’d probably choose somewhere less dated. ||And indeed dated was the biggest issue. Nothing was actually broken - indeed the hotel was clean and in a good state of repair, but plenty of things in the rooms were past their best. From the blackout curtains having many small holes in, to every single wooden surface having chips and missing paint on the edges, it was clear that a full renovation is needed. ||It feels like the bathroom probably had some attention in the last five years, but the squeaky toilet roll holders and awful shower betray the true age. The bed too was on the softer side and is definitely close to needing replacement. ||Breakfast was plentiful, but flavourless. The worst part was that hotels are apparently no longer content with giving you wafer thin bacon, now they give you crushed up wafer thin bacon. Basically it takes any joy at all out of the meal. ||Overall, like I said earlier on, the hotel is reliable but old. If you’re not paying very much to stay there (and we didn’t) then it’s probably worth it. But if you’re comparing with others in the area and the price is the same, then they might be better.

The whole hotel was clean and friendly. It made you safe and welcomed. Breakfast was so much better than expected. I love a clean and up to date hotel. This is it! Some hotels on line make you believe that are ok, when they are not what you expect upon arrival. I recommend 10 out of 10.

Excellent clean hotel. We didn't have time to use it but the pool looked great! Breakfast yummy and extensive. Nice responsive staff and great location. We were there to watch Orioles play Diamondbacks and would go again. Hotel closer to stadium was booked so we chose Mesa as a second and it was great.

Overall our stay was nice. The breakfast buffet was fabulous and they kept it full right until closing time which we appreciated. The pool area was well kept (just like the pictures) but the "heated" pool was way too cold to swim in January so we enjoyed the hot tub instead. The staff get 5 stars for friendliness and accommodating our room requests and other needs. The room itself was very clean but the hotel overall was a bit older and it showed in the worn furniture, body holes in the mattresses, etc. It's not the brand new posh feel, but was just fine and comfortable for our getaway. Location was in a good part of town, central and easy to access Walmart, restaurants, freeway and more. Free parking on the property and the lobby was very clean and pleasant.

Rooms are in need of updating. Broken sink, super soft beds, ac unit sound like a truck. We had to move from the first room we were given.||||Breakfasts are always the same. No variety.||||Only plus is it has an excellent location and lots of free parking. Also most staff were excellent. One exception a lady who wouldn't give us our free water without a struggle!

Clean and Quiet= Relaxing. Great location to freeway, restaurants, Riverview Park and Rio Salado walking/biking path. Pool area was enjoyable though air traffic was noticeable. . However, convenient proximity to Sky Harbor, is a big plus and I didn’t hear planes from inside the hotel room.
