NillPros - * Interesting property. * Seems clean enough. * Rooms are spacious. * Breakfast is solid. Cons - * Mandatory $50/night charge to cover in-hotel expenses, I guess. If you buy food or something, it will be docked from this fee. You would think that this would be stated before booking, especially via third-party travel websites, but you'd be wrong. * Nearby parking is limited and not free. I repeat, any conveniently located parking spaces will cost you money. * Not many fully- or partially-covered parking options despite this being located in the land of the Angry Sun. * Every door has a slow close feature up until the last 20-degrees of being open, at which point they slam closed. Why it isn't the opposite with a soft closure is beyond me, but serves as a reminder that the hotel doesn't really want you to have a relaxing time. This is especially fun midday when housekeeping gets underway. * Hard water makes you feel like soap will never come off your skin. This hotel has hard water. So, this is a nice place, but the hefty upfront, undisclosed fee (which you should get back, but is still ridiculous to be forced to pay) and limited parking options really put a sour taste in my mouth.

NillMy wife and I stayed at the Home2 Suites by Hilton Phoenix Tempe, University Research Park for 5 weeks while our house was restored after a sewer line failure. Our room was excellent with a perfect size refrigerator/freezer and a microwave. The staff was very attentive and quickly took care of any of our needs whenever they arose. Tyson at the front desk as well as others there were especially helpful as we had to learn how to use the services available to us. They went the extra mile to help us with everything we needed. The self-serve complimentary breakfast was outstanding, as they had a high quality breakfast bar that had several different choices to create a meal of your own design. The manager, David and the attendants there were wonderful. Most notably, Denise and Pat were friendly and helpful, though everyone was great. We enjoyed going down to breakfast every morning. Thankyou Hotel2 Suites for a wonderful stay. We highly recommend your hotel!

NillIf the sign didn’t say Hilton, I would have thought we were at a motel 6.. Room was disgusting. Room was dirty and very worn down. We only stay at Hilton Properties and I’ve never stayed at a room this bad. Lady who checked us in was fine and nice and the Resturant was nice to have on the property but the actual room, 0-10..

NillThis hotel stole $3,445.60 from me. I was supposed to stay for 6 weeks, but upon my arrival, there was animal urine in the carpet, old cookies in the carpet that they never vacuumed up bringing ants and roaches into the room, the shower door was broken and wouldn't shut, the table leg was broken, the dishwasher was rusted out inside, and the faucet was not even attached to the sink. And then their internet did not work. When I got in contact with the front desk the first girl had someone do a reset and I was able to connect. Then it happened again; I got kicked off the internet and could not get back on. They had an attitude when I reached out the second time and the girl told me to call the internet service provider myself to resolve the issue. So I did. And the woman at the internet service provider gave me a case number #CS2765919 and explained that they no longer provide internet services to this hotel--which made total sense as to why their internet was not working. They offered me another room but that one had a different stench and the dishwasher was also busted up in that room, not to mention the barking dog in the room next to it. And the internet issue was still not resolved. I ended up leaving and going to another Home2 Suites in Scottsdale. Much better experience and what you expect when you stay at a Hilton Home2 Suites. When I tried to get my refund from this hotel, which they agreed to, they initially told me that they issued the refund. I spoke with my bank when 3 weeks had gone by and I still had not received said refund. Then they tried to claim the refund was sent, I had just ended the call with my bank so I knew for a fact that was a lie. They came back saying that a manager was needed and would call me back. The manager never called. I called Hilton's main number and they said the individual hotel has to issue the refund. When I called this hotel again today, Dalton, the wonderful young man at the front desk, hung up on me--again. I get that he is "just the front desk guy" but if you cannot handle an issue, or simply don't want to be bothered, then pass the call to someone who can. But he would rather get an attitude and treat me poorly after realizing who I am, which has been his MO since the first time I called them. I wish I could say his attitude was isolated but it wasn't, clearly, because the girl at the front desk took the attitude of "Oh the internet isn't working? Not my problem. Call them yourself if you're having issues." When I called back to Hilton's main number, I spoke with yet another rep who tried once again to assist me. He explained to me that Hilton took all the funds for my anticipated stay up front and that, after on week, forwarded the funds to the hotel. The hotel insists they have not received my money but Hilton corporate says they have. The rep from the main number told me he was unable to process the refund due to the system going through an update and told me to call back later. I did try to call back, yet again, the representative put me on a long hold and then returned with yet a different story claiming that the hotel and the corporate office had agreed to the refund but that they needed accounting to process the refund but accounting was waiting on an answer from corporate. I said that didn't make any sense that they were waiting on an answer from the very office I was on the phone with but the rep was unable to assist. She stated they needed the manager's approval but yet again, apparently, the hotel's manager must be some A-List celebrity because they are never available and for the last almost 3 weeks have been unable to process the refund. This is a seriously sketchy business and after this I will not be staying in another Hilton hotel. Over $3,400 for a headache and a ruined vacation since we have not been able to do anything other than hang out at the hotel in Scottsdale because these jokers refuse to get their act together and issue the refund they promised, thus tying up double the amount of money.

NillRun far away from here if you are looking for a nice decent stay without any fees after your horrific stay. I got into my room around 10 pm and when I got up to use the restroom, I broke my foot on the ottoman- that was hard as cement- placed near the bed. This is around 2 am and the lights were not turning on in the room. I did not enjoy my stay and now I have medical expenses due to the furniture in the room. Since I am newly injured, I have been treated horrible by staff and am being charged $250.00 to clean a room that was not serviced at all during my 7 day stay. The room needed a standard cleaning. I have NEVER been charged a cleaning fee at any hotel and I travel often for work. They’ll usually refresh your room during your stay. Not here. The hotel manager has cut as many corners as possible. I will never stay here again!

★★Like other guests, I am also disgusted, disappointed and frustrated by the parking situation. I was advised when I checked in that I had to scan the QR code to pay $10 for a night of parking and all the clerk would say is "it's on the website". I've looked at many other Hilton properties in the area and all offer free parking. The $10 charge is ridiculous and would be bad enough if added to the bill but I had to stand out in the hot sun in the parking lot for 15 minutes to get the silly app to work. Someone else said the clerk offered to waive the parking fee - that never happened with me but would have been a welcome option. It's also inconvenient and confusing to try to enter the Home2Suites building and be directed to the adjoining Hilton Garden Inn to check in - you can only access the Home2Suites property after you have the room card. I was also disappointed to be assigned a room on the first floor, right across from the pool/laundry entrance. When I went back to the desk (back again to the Hilton desk) and asked for a top floor room, I was told that wasn't available and was given a 4th floor room. I'm now sitting in the room, listening to some giant stomping across the floor in the room above - just hoping they don't stay up and about too late tonight because I have a flight in the morning. Very unhappy with this site and wouldn't stay again.

NillDon't stay here! My frustration started when you can't enter the lobby - you have to go next door to the Hilton to register. There I learned that I had to scan a QR code to pay $10 to park (even though all other Hilton properties in the area provide complimentary parking). The clerk simply said "it's on the website" - so I had to stand outside in the hot parking lot to try to set up the app to pay. When I went to my room (of course in the separate Home2Suite building) I saw it was on the first floor, across from the pool and laundry room. I had to go back to the Hilton where I requested a top floor room and was advised none were available so I was given a 4th floor room. I'm now listening to some giant thundering above me, just hoping that he doesn't continue his dance all night. Definitely a big frustration and disappointment and not what I expect from Hilton.

★★The hotel itself is OK - it’s a split Home 2 Suites on one end and a Garden Inn on the other, with the check in for both at the Garden Inn. It’s located in a suburban, almost rural area right along Hwy 101. ||The problem is parking. ||I travel a lot - 150+ days a year - and in every other hotel of this caliber in that kind of location, parking is free. Occasionally you need to let the desk clerk know your license plate info, but nothing more. Here, you HAVE to scan a QR code and input a bunch of info and your payment method to some nebulous entity. The desk clerk when I checked in was very apologetic and explained she’d charge it to the room, but I still had to do the scan and enter the other info. She’d had many people complaining about it as not everyone has a smart phone and no one wants to be sending their credit card info to to an unknown business. ||So I did all that. UP popped a time tracker on my phone ticking down the minutes. When I checked out, there was a card on my car saying it hadn’t been registered for parking. No, I did that 4 days ago! If this is such a big deal why isn’t the lot being checked nightly and why do I have to go all the way back to the desk to get this resolved when I need to be heading to the airport. ||The clerk was very apologetic, told me that if he’d checked me in, he would have given me free parking (Why not do that for everyone?) and he’d take care of it. ||Got home and got a message on my phone that I was out of time and needed to add more. I left 12 hours ago. ||That and the lack of handicap accessible parking at the entrance make it a no for me. No one has time to deal with such an irritating inconvenience. Either have everyone add it to the room which works fine, or do away with it.
