Horrible management and crisis response. Stayed here for Valentine's for ONE night. Our room completely flooded with water everywhere. The water wasn't draining due to bad pipes, and since the water was being held in the shower, it leaked into the walls which caused the water to get pushed out through the closet walls and floorboards. Bad plumbing and even worse repairs. Pipes were plugged and water went through the badly applied epoxy in the shower. The water completely filled our restroom as well as our room. Since the hotel is NOT "24/7", as they are advertised, we had to call an after hours line that provided no help since no one is there to help past 11 PM. We were only comped 25% off when the room should've completely been comped due to the other complaints about plumbing issues. Something that we ignored in past reviews especially since we didn’t think we’d have to experience that in the ONE night we decided to stay in hopes of a relaxing and stress-free stay. A full refund is still expected since this is also a health and safety hazard and considering they are still booking rooms with plumbing issues. We had to take about 12 pool towels out of the 15 available from the gated off pool area that had to be jumped over to be able to handle the situation. This situation lasted about 2 HOURS which led to our clothes and everything on the floor getting wet and no sleep. They sent someone the next morning only to fix the clogged drains. We probably saved them thousands of dollars in repairs since we had to dry it ourselves. To think that we almost decided to leave, but instead decided to help the hotel out hoping they would help us in return… Only 25% off is absurd. Plumbing issues are an ongoing situation with this hotel that they don’t mention to guests in advance. Front desk associates are sweet but are still part of the problem since the manager doesn’t like to talk to customers or anyone, instead play a game of telephone with the associates while also taking advantage of paying guests. Do not stay here unless you want to get swindled and have an ocean form from the closet walls to the front door. DO NOT STAY HERE. Management: Cameras are pointed towards the pool area, you will see me hopping the fence and taking a number of towels at around 12:45 AM on 02/15/25. Added Photo was the start of the flooding with the bath and hand towels provided in the room. We didn’t take any other photos since we didn’t want to humiliate this establishment. But instead, as paying customers, we were humiliated and swindled.

From the very moment we arrived, Patrick treated us like family. He has a way about him that makes everyone think they are the most important person at the hotel. The hotel is quirky and a little unusual but so fun when you're used to standard rooms that all look the same. Our rooms were large, with two king-size beds in each and the bathrooms were clean and modern. Loved sitting on the balcony every evening to see the sunset and watch the activities on the street. Good location, with easy access TO the beach, uphill climb on the way back! The hotel supplies beach chairs, umbrellas and towels, so no need to pack or rent/buy them for time spent at the beach, and then cool off with a popsicle on the way back to your room. The trolley stop is within 1/2 a block and is an excellent way to check out sites along the highway in Laguna Beach. We rode it to the end, marking sites to stop at and see later. Decent breakfast in the mornings and almost always, freshly baked cookies. Would definitely stay here again if we ever make it back to Laguna Beach!

The reviews of Art Hotel are so variable, it’s almost like people are talking about different places. We had a 2-king room and it was perfect. The bathroom was very nice. The nearby beach was beautiful. The woman who checked us in was very nice and welcoming. The hotel has a nice personal touch. I also really liked that they provide chairs and boogie boards for the beach. Reunion Kitchen had been recommended to us when we asked for a dinner rec and we loved it there. A lot of reviews mention Patrick, who we did encounter. He’s very nice and eager to help, and I don’t want to hurt his feelings, but he’s too aggressive about pushing his favorite Arch-Angel, Michael on everyone, including my kids.

Very decent room especially for the location and price. Room was nicely furnished and staff were very nice. The bit of breakfast made it easy to get a quick start in the mornings. Super close access to a couple cool beaches, just a bit down and back up which was fine.

I absolutely adore Patrick—he is truly a gem. He is the heart and soul of the Art Hotel, and without a doubt, the best part of Laguna Beach. He is a blessing, and it’s clear that he is sent from above. Patrick is by far the best hotel employee I have ever encountered. He is hardworking, selfless, and at times was a one-man show, pulling double shifts when other employees were unavailable. Despite the heavy workload, he always kept a smile on his face and remained positive. I hope the higher-ups truly appreciate what an asset he is, as he made both my mom's and my stay unforgettable and exhilarating. Patrick restored my faith in the best of humanity—he went above and beyond to make us feel like part of the family. His kindness, professionalism, and positivity made us feel comfortable and at ease, and there was such a warm, welcoming vibe. As for the hotel, we really enjoyed it. The room was cute, and the location was perfect—right across the street from the beach. The only issue was the lack of privacy on the balcony. We were so close to other rooms that it felt like everyone could see us, so we didn’t use the balcony for that reason. I wish there was more space between the rooms for a little more privacy. Additionally, I would like to suggest that the higher-ups consider adding a screen to the balcony door. Unfortunately, we couldn’t enjoy the ocean breeze throughout the day and night because we had to keep the door closed. This made the room feel a bit stuffy, and we missed the fresh air. Thankfully, the AC unit helped, and stepping outside provided some relief, but this was a minor issue I hope they address on our next visit. However, the amazing customer service from Alanda and Maria more than made up for it. They were friendly, efficient, and kind. We would definitely love to come back. Everyone at the hotel was fantastic, but above all, I’m so grateful to Patrick for making us feel so welcome. The little things like that make such a difference when choosing where to stay. It’s reassuring to know that you’re valued and wanted. I’ll definitely return because the customer service was excellent, and it’s so refreshing to be treated like a human being. It really feels good!

The rooms were very clean and also renovated inside. They looked like the photos. We liked the standing shower, king sized bed, and large flat screen TV. Also the A/C unit looks new and works well. Service by the friendly front desk staff was very good. Our only disappointment was that our room faced the Pacific Coast Hwy, which is four lanes of traffic all day, especially annoying are the people gunning the engines of loud motorcycles or cars. For me personally I don’t find that level of noise relaxing while on vacation and it does affect the enjoyment of the hotel overall. If you’re not noise sensitive then this hotel is great. It wasn’t possible to enjoy the sunny deck of our room and we had to keep the sliding glass doors closed. Crescent beach is across the street, about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. And you can walk into the main part of town in about 20 minutes (1 mile away). There is a trolley bus, but the frequency is rather sporadic, the app didn’t work on the 2nd day, and rather than waiting 30-40 minutes for the Trolley, we just walked the whole way, which was very enjoyable. Recommend walking through the residential area, hugging the coastline, and using the scenic promenade to walk to town. Heisler Park was the highlight for us with its gorgeous tropical flowers and stunning views.

I absolutely love the Art Hotel! When I was living in NYC, I flew out to meet a man (my now husband) and we went to the Art Hotel and stayed here for five days. It is so comfortable, cute, and feels like home. Three years later, we are back for my husband's 40th birthday! And Patrick at the Front desk is so warm and welcoming! The Art Hotel is my favorite place to stay in Laguna Beach.

The Art Hotel is a small hotel conveniently located near the center of Laguna Beach. We just completed our 3rd 8-day stay of this year, and we have thoroughly enjoyed each sojourn. We’ve already booked another 8-day stay for the end of January 2025! We wouldn’t even consider booking|a different hotel.|The staff and, particularly Patrick, always willingly goes beyond normal expectations to assure that our stay is comfortable and enjoyable.|The rooms are comfortable and clean, and each is furnished with a mini refrigerator, microwave oven and coffee maker. The plush robes and huge tiled walk-in shower are to die for! |I highly recommend the Art Hotel.
