Rita was wonderful and helpful ! I felt safe and the place was very clean. Minimalist as others state- but I simply needed a comfortable room near the convention center. Great location and nice price!

Traveled to the area with my son. Most important was a safe location close to downtown. If you are a Hilton or chain hotel person this is not for you. I read all the reviews and some were obviously from people that didn’t read the descriptions. We loved our stay. Easy check in. We experienced no noise from other guests There was normal noise trash trucks, traffic and music from nearby businesses. The room was comfortable. Super clean and minimalist. We will definitely stay again.

I arrived before check in time to drop off my bag. Being that this hotel is not staffed, I called Rita for assistance. She explained that my only option was to pay the $40 early check in fee in order to drop my bag off. “You are already getting a really great deal” she says. Landlord vibes.

There is no front desk at this hotel, it's an apartment building that has been retrofitted to be hotel rooms. I checked into the room and checked under the sheets, near the head board. There were multiple small black dots on the mattress cover and I was concerned that 1) there was an active bed bug infestation or 2) an infestation was remedied and that cover was not swapped out. I could not in good conscious stay at the hotel. Further, the room had a strong cologne smell that was making me nauseous. It smelled like an abercrombie & fitch store. I reached out to the hotel thru the booking site and received no response.

I stayed at Hotel Gigi for three nights while attending a conference. Although I was a bit apprehensive at first, the stay turned out to be perfectly fine. The room might be a bit tight for a couple, but it’s manageable for one person. The hotel has no front and provides housekeeping when requested 24 hours in advance.||The room featured a basin (with liquid hand soap provided), a small but separate bathroom with a shower stall, and an all-in-one shampoo/shower gel. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked efficiently, and the WiFi was fast. The TV was quite new, and I primarily used it to stream YouTube. ||The hotel is centrally located, just under ten minutes from the Padres stadium and about 17 minutes from the convention center. It was a bit difficult to find the hotel entrance. While I would have preferred a lower price, considering the rates of other hotels in San Diego, I think Hotel Gigi offers excellent value for money.

Not sure how this has such good ratings. The room is tiny, not enough room for luggage. Walls are paper thin, you can hear conversations on the street and anytime anyone moves or opens a door anywhere in the hotel. The air conditioner/ fan didn’t work. Had a window with the view of a wall.

The location is awesome, with a lot of restaurants and a baseball stadium in vicinity. Room has a window but just for the namesake. Bathroom is okay for the price I paid. AC is functional. There is no front desk, so can't even talk to anyone there. I didn't see anyone during my stay.Rooms are separated by cardboard or something; can hear other people walking, but personally I was not disturbed by anyone.If you want a bed, bathroom in a nice location with least disturbance, you would not be disappointed.

Lovely room & service by Rita (hotel owner) and her staff. 15 min walk to the convention center. I felt safe here & it was a clean, tidy room for a single traveler.
