Holiday Inn Express San Diego Airport-Old Town by IHG

This hotel was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Call it crazy, but I judge a room by the cleanliness of the a/c filters...and these were spotless! The entire room was spotless, beautifully appointed, inviting and even smelled fresh. The bed linens were 1st class, and in spite of the noise from the nearby highway, I managed to get an exceptional night's sleep. Adhraa and Eli were wonderful front desk hosts, each greeting us with a warm welcome and polite conversation. After a 180 degree opposite experience in Palm Springs, we were happy we picked this hotel on our way home. Even the shuttle drivers were terrific, polite and respectful! So...a great big thank you to all at Holiday Inn Express Airport-Old Town and I give you a Perfect 5! If we're every back in SD, we'll definitely stay here again!

This hotel was great for our 3 night stay, entire place is well maintained, clean and comfortable. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Laundry room is a great asset when you are traveling with children! Location is perfect for San Diego attractions ( Seaworld 5 minutes, Zoo 10 minutes, Old Town walkable from hotel !) Parking garage is great and they have electric vechicle charging stations which are also a great amentiy! Pool was heated and we can not thank this team enough for our great stay, WE will be back

I stayed here one night for business. I was meeting a client at the hotel and they were very helpful with allowing us to use the lobby while my room was still being prepared, as I arrived well before check in time. I am a Platinum Elite member, and was pleased to then be able to check in early and receive an upgraded room. I must say the King Suite with the hot tub is an awesome room. My first impression beyond the excellent layout of this room was the cleanliness. This room was absolutely spotless! I’m not sure when this hotel was built, but this room looked brand new it was that clean! Everything was comfortable, the bed was great, a wonderful hot tub, even a nice patio to sit on and enjoy the outstanding weather. I was able to order food and have it delivered to my room, not having to make a trip to the lobby to get it. Shuttle service was very prompt and efficient. I called from the airport and they originally told me maybe 20 minutes, but it wasn’t 5 minutes and the van was there for me. They were also very accommodating in taking me right back to the airport when I needed to go back. The only area I found lacking at all was breakfast. And it might be ok for some people depending upon your tastes. I happen to not like sausage and there was no bacon. There was also no Strawberry yogurt, the most common flavor, only tons of raspberry and cherry, which apparently people didn’t want and had built up. The i]cinnamon rolls were dried out. So, I wasn’t impressed with breakfast. But overall, everything else in this hotel rates a 10 from me, and I rarely give a 10. I would have loved to stay and just relax here for several days! If in this area again, I will definitely stay here!

Staff was amazing and friendly. They didn’t have the rooms we booked through Priceline but were accommodating with upgrading our room at no extra cost. We used the shuttle to go to the marine base and they took us there and picked us up without a long wait. The hotel is very clean. Art was the best front desk person!

I would easily come to this hotel every year when I'm in the area. The room was clean and ready everyday, friendly service, and I love the location. Breakfast included with very good food. You will not be disappointed.

Planned a day to stay after our cruise. Great to have the shuttle pick us up at the port and was awesome they had a room available to check in when we arrived. Nice room and amenities. The shuttle was perfect for old town and airport drop off early the next mooring. Great stay, wished could have stayed longer.

The hotel is nice, I really liked the facilities—they look recently renovated. Luckily, I only stayed one night because the bed was the worst I’ve ever slept on. I think it’s really old, so much so that I sank no matter where I laid. I kept tossing and turning all night until I found a corner that was slightly less uncomfortable. I woke up tired and with terrible back pain. The shower doesn’t work properly. It’s very worn out and sprays water in all directions. The water pressure is extremely strong through the only 2 or 3 holes that still work, while the rest are either clogged or misdirected. Check-in felt like I was dealing with a machine. The girl at reception helped me in a very robotic way and didn’t acknowledge my membership status in any way. The best part was breakfast—the staff was very friendly and made sure nothing was missing. Even though it was a basic breakfast, everything was really tasty.

First and foremost...the employees...are...SUPER COOL/NICE/ATTENTIVE/FUN-SPIRITED. We dealt with ART, KYLIE, KRISTO, and NICK. They were helpful every.single.time we needed anything, going above and beyond their initial duties. Besides the service, the rooms were clean, spacious, and updated. The morning breakfast was better than most; many different options. Nice workout room with T.V. Shuttle service was a plus! There is a cool sports bar (Home & Away) within walking distance if you want to grab a drink and some food :)
