Residence Inn Savannah Midtown

This review is difficult because there are many positives and one negative (but a big one). ||We arrived at the location way ahead of time (around 9AM). The lady at front desk gave us a room right away, without any issues.||It was a two bedroom with a dining room and a full kitchen, for an incredible price.||The big issue was a roach problem in our place. When we walked into the room, there were 2 dead ones and one alive by the kitchen area, and one dead one floating in the bathroom.|My husband got rid of them all, and we went out sightseeing. |When we came back, I saw another one next to the sink and a new dead one on the floor. At that point, I went to the front desk, and the lady was happy to give us another room. It looked identical, but there was no roaches. ||The staff there, especially front desk, is amazing. Very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was also very good. I am terrified of roaches, and I had a baby with me, so this was a big issue . I really liked the hotel so I hope they can take care of this problem.

Property is dated, but at least it was clean. Having a one bedroom suite provided space and comfort. The employee who had checked us in acted like we were a bother to her. Breakfast wasn’t appealing. Our room was on the first floor, two doors away from the side entrance, and the deadbolt lock didn’t work, so I didn’t really feel safe. Unfortunately, the pool was closed. We usually have a great stay and experience at most Residence Inn locations, but this one didn’t live up to what we’ve come to expect from RI. The employee whom we had checked out with was the only friendly person we had encountered there.

This might be the worst Residence Inn I have ever stayed at. We checked in at 11:30pm and checked out at 12:15am. Awful experience! No parking, the rooms were dirty, and bugs. I asked for a new room and it was even worse than the first one. I didn’t stay in the room long enough to investigate more! If you told me someone died in room 116, I would believe you! Run!!!

Dated, understaffed, not particularly clean. Would not recommend. I have no idea why anybody would rate this place over three stars. There are far better options in the Savannah area, and I would spend a few extra bucks to stay in the historic district.

This hotel needs a complete renovation. The a/c sounded like it’s going to explode and the whole “suite” is beat up and dirty. The plugs and USB ports rarely work and the carpet smelled musty. The location is meh at best. Won’t be staying here again.

Overall needs a refresh as the rooms are worn down. Even some buttons are broken in the elevator, and it has a interesting smell when walking down the halls.

For a Residence Inn I was very pleased with our experience. Rooms were clean, front desk was super responsive and nice and the location was quite close to Bull Street hot spots, 15 mins to historic district. The only complaint was the pull out sofa was pretty rough for an adult.

Hidden away but if you are not interested in staying in the fancy historic district it's a great value. Room was spacious and clean, though a bit dated. Staff was friendly. Really nice breakfast buffet. Free parking which is unusual for Savannah hotels. Small but functional exercise room.
