★Show up that night, employee was fine just not personable. Get my 1ST room, unload all my stuff, go to use the bathroom...you could clearly see "swass" on the toilet seat from the previous guest. So if the cleaner didn't clean the most important thing (toilet) then what else did they not clean? So, I go back to the office, tell the guy, he seems unimpressed by my request to switch rooms, loads a new card, and "tosses" it on the counter for me. Cool, thx? Head to the 2ND room, go straight to the bathroom, check the toilet...couldn't believe it...this one literally had a little piece of s**t stuck to the bowl clear as day & under the rim there's splatter. So, walk my butt over in the cold/snow to the office again, guy is wondering why I'm back so soon, tell him what's up and he is more annoyed now but at least laughs at one of my comments (I was being super chill about it), so I think he was partly on my side at that point. He loads another key, this time walks w/me to the 3RD room. Check bathroom first, it's fine, but the room smells really sour like a gym locker room or gym bag. I mention the smell and he offers fabreeze! I tell him I'd rather clean the toilet in the first room than breath that smell all night...to which he says "well you're here now so like I said, I'll just get you fabreeze". To which I said I'd rather just have the toilet cleaned in the first room. He hums & haws, visably more annoyed, it's freakin late and I've already wasted a ton of time, so I tell him to get me a towel & cleaner and I'll clean the toilet in the 1st room myself. We walk back to the office, I sit and wait for a few more minutes, he comes back and hands me a rag & cleaner. I guess him offering to clean it for me was a ridiculous idea cuz he never even alluded to that as an option. So essentially if you don't want a dirty room, it might be up to the guest to clean it themselves.....pretty crazy concept. Total check-in fiasco was 45 mins, and me cleaning my own toilet!! Never once apologized for any of it either. Felt a crumb or something of that nature a few times, after I'd crawled into bed, which grossed me the he** out but I was done at that point and just wanted to sleep. Unbelievable!

NillThe room itself was good. Clean bed, bathroom, and floors. Mini fridge and mounted tv was nice. My biggest compliant is the security to my room. You can tell they recently updated the door locks to the modern tap card system but my lock didn't slide into the plate. They had a chain, but still. The peep hole had paint in it so I couldn't see, and the unlit smoking area was right around the corner from my room. They also didn't have an interior bar to jam up the first floor window as extra security. As a female traveling alone these are things that matter to me.

NillBest thing about this hotel is it's staff. Helpful, friendly and hard workers. They do their best with what they have to make the stay enjoyable. Other pluses: hot water, good size refrigerator, microwave, (handy since they no longer offer breakfast). The beds were in pretty good shape and they allow pets. The location is great, walkable to stores, restaurants, etc. However, for the price we were charged (129.00 a night), the bathrooms especially need to be repainted and updated, they are dismal. Cracked, peeling and chipped paint, chips out of the bathtub and toilet seat, linoleum pulling away from wall, no towel bar or hooks to hang wet towels, a tiny almost unusable sink (no vanity) outside the tub/toilet area that is also showing signs of it's age and the owners neglect. Large holes in the window screen. Remotes that don't seem to be paired to the TV (we tried two and no volume control). The laundry room vending machine for soap is empty, seems to have been for years. Cleaning can only do so much and again the staff does their best. The owners however should either lower their rates or step up their game.

NillRooms are ok, although underwhelming for the price. Front desk employee was very annoyed that we wanted to check in, barely said a word to us during the process. Hot tub was cloudy and smelled like salmon, but maybe that’s a play on the town name or something. Either way it was gross. Will come back to Salmon but won’t stay here.

NillI was stranded in Salmon with a flat tire on my Softail and needed a place to stay and get out of the heat! I found Bear Country Inn on Expedia when I was just about right across from the Inn. 4 of us walked in and was greeted by the most wonderful receptionist! Amanda, went above and beyond to get us 2 rooms right beside each other. She checked us in and knew the reservation was coming on Expedia.(can take up to 30 min). The rooms were clean, comfortable, and cool. Loved to visit with Amanda, made my day a lot better and even got me laughing, when I just wanted to cry! Thank you again for the wonderful hospitality! I would recommend this Inn.

NillThe gal at the front desk was very nice, friendly and provided great service for our party (3 rooms) and our stay.. The rooms are not anything fancy and the bed is uncomfortable(needs upgraded) but the towels were nice, and room has a fridge and microwave. Room needs more outlets as there was very few available. Also was disappointed to wake up at 7am and no one was in lobby to get some coffee as advertised. Luckily there is a great teal coffee shack across the street that has amazing drinks. My kids loved the pool. Overall the great service we received outweighed the negative parts. Hopefully the hotel will get some much needed upgrades soon.

NillThe room do not have much, and constantly fighting the cold in November with air coming from the door and the windo even when closed. Their hot tub is broken and has been broken the last 3 times I have stayed here. The pool isn't bad, just not heated very well. Their service was decent. I love the location on main Street and easy to get in and out.

NillThis is one of the worst hotels I've stayed at in a long time. This last weekend was a big hockey tournament weekend and our of all the rooms, we were the only people in the entire hotel. The room was plain, boring and cramped. The only thing on the walls was a small TV that didn't work. It had a very small space next to a bed to hang a few clothes on. The beds were uncomfortable with 1 pillow for each person. The highlight of the room was a nice sized refrigerator/freezer combo. They have NO breakfast and NO coffee. NOTHING. It was a horrible hotel in a beautiful city. The only positive was the location. It is located in the center of the city with coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. DO NOT STAY HERE.
