Ray's Bucktown Bed and Breakfast

We loved everything about Ray’s. My teenager and I came into town for a book reading event and wanted a stay within walking distance of the venue. This B&B exceeded our expectations (and I’d read the glowing reviews, so we always had high hopes). The attention to detail and care given to guests’ experiences was remarkable. The breakfast and breadth of options were impressive. Neighborhood is charming and in close proximity to business districts. Our room was well-appointed, spacious, and comfortable. We loved the decor and exploring all the nooks and crannies in public areas. We can’t wait to return to Chicago so we can stay at Ray’s again.

I have been staying at Ray’s numerous times over the past 3 years visiting my daughter. I have never ever once experienced anything but the most wonderful and caring experience. Kat and Ashlee are just amazing human beings as well as running a top notch b&b. The bedrooms are each unique just as is the whole place from common areas to steam and sauna to garden terraces. They even give you a garage spot if available. They know my dog Nina by name and were thrilled to meet my new puppy. The breakfast is out of this world. I just love this place and wish they would simply adopt me.

Ray’s is the best!! I was in town apartment hunting, and Ray’s was in a perfect location for what I was searching for. Ashlee and the crew are so kind and accommodating. She upgraded me without me asking! Breakfast is delicious and the access to the kitchen for water/tea/snacks is so nice. WiFi is super strong. I would def stay here again and recommend to friends.

This place is honestly one of my favorite places to stay in the city! I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Location is perfect as it’s not directly in downtown so traffic isn’t horrendous by it. The staff are amazing! From the food to the hospitality, they do such a great job making you feel right at home! I also left a bracelet that was very special to me on our last trip there and they found it right away when cleaning and had it shipped out right away to my house and I am so thankful. 10/10!!!

We almost always stay in Airbnbs when we travel but couldn’t find anything good or close enough for this trip, so I looked on a map at hotels near where we were going and Ray’s popped up. Thank goodness! We’re now looking for any excuse to return to Chicago and bring the entire family. I hadn’t been in twenty years but this will make me a much more frequent visitor. The level of hospitality at Ray’s far exceeds what we’ve found elsewhere and it was such a pleasure from top to bottom. They really thought of everything. The breakfast options and service alone made this worth the trip. And the neighborhood is so walkable and cozy, even in the bleak midwinter. It’s inspiring me to take up the practice of seeking out similar accommodations when traveling before going straight to Airbnb. This place is so well run and a joy to support.

What a great find Ray’s was! I was looking for a place to stay in Bucktown to be near my daughter whilst I was on holiday from Scotland and Ray’s really knocked it out of the park. The whole concept of a bespoke BnB with exceptional staff, top drawer rooms and service really made my stay one to remember. I would never go back to a conventional hotel as long as Ray’s is still around. It’s that good. To have facilities like a steam room and sauna on site as well as cooked to order breakfasts is a real luxury too. I stayed 5 days and had a great time. Hats off to Ashlee, Kat and the rest of the team at Ray’s. They really make the difference.

Ray's Bucktown Bed and Breakfast is a real gem! This is the second time I have stayed here and I will keep coming. The hospitality is beyond expectations - we were treated like family and given carte blanch of so many amenities. True to its posting, rooms in the basement are under the main floor/kitchen area and in the morning, it's quite loud, but we loved being nearer to the saunas!

Loved our experience here! Kat was extremely helpful and very welcoming upon our arrival. Breakfast portions are quite large so they definitely try to take care of their guests even if it is the one meal, you will be full enough to take on the day, they do an amazing job. My gf and I loved the room we had, the eagle’s nest, it has a great view front facing outside of the bnb. Would I come back? YES. Our room was very clean and we had no issues whatsoever during our 4 day stay. Thank you so much Ray’s! We hope to come back soon!
