This place is a joke. I check in, it’s late and I’m tired. I unpack and get ready for bed, only to find my bed has not been made properly. It was missing the sheets between the mattress and the duvet/comforter. Nasty! I call down to the front desk to advise them of the issue and they say they’ll send housekeeping up right away to fix the problem. After about 20 minutes housekeeping shows up and hands me sheets and leaves without saying a word, so I had the privilege of making my own bed at the hotel…at 11pm. Thanks, Thompson. Nice to see you keeping it classy. ||Other issues during this stay included: Requested feather-free bedding due to a dust allergy and although the system indicated that the request was accommodated, it wasn’t. I also requested a quiet room and am placed immediately across from the elevator. And finally, I’m a Hyatt globalist (ie frequent customer of Hyatt) and one of the perks is a suite upgrade upon availability at check-in. Suites were showing available on the app yet I was told no suites were available. The suite upgrade issue is a minor inconvenience, but when taken in totality this place is just plain terrible. Honestly, I had a better experience at a Hyatt place in rural North Carolina last week.

Great room with the focus on couples and not so much families. Good gym. There’s an attached restaurant on the first floor and a bar on the second floor. Good downstairs lobby. One elevator only in operation (some waits). Breakfast was a little disappointing. Globalist: one breakfast item, one beverage (firm - no extras). We were happy to receive a room upgrade. Can recommend.

Thompson definitely met the standards of a Hyatt! Amazing staff from Daniel & Ana in housekeeping! Front desk was very accommodating and friendly Nicole and Lucas were awesome! Great area with lots of things to do! I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for making my stay special!

Nicole at the front desk is hands down one of the best I’ve had the pleasure of meeting! She’s kind, accommodating, and helps to make the stay one of a kind! ||||The hotel itself is a bit dated but the price is very reasonable. Minor hiccup with globalist breakfast - espresso included one day but not included on others? A bit confusing but by no means a deal breaker to me at least.

We weren’t greeted by the front desk- They just asked “Last Name”... The hotel lobby has a strong sewage smell. The room had a nice view, but the furniture and cleaning was in desperate need of attention. The location is great. Located a block from Maple and Ash which is where we had dinner. Plan to add photos to the review soon.

When we checked into the hotel Nicole T was very helpful and very informational about where to go and what to do around the hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location and walking distance from every store you can think of and all the foods of all kinds of varieties that you would want to eat. We had a room on the 21st floor on the end which had a separate bathroom with a large tub and large shower. Overall, this was a great hotel to spend four nights and I want to come back in the summertime when it's not so cold.

thank you Nicole and Vania for an excellent check-in experience. this hotel has been perfect, and any issues we’ve brought up have been promptly resolved while we were out and about. the location is excellent, and the short walks to the red line L station have been very convenient.

We had a fabulous pre New Years visit to the Gold Coast and The Thompson Hotel. First off the place is in a great location for food, shopping, and entertainment. The hotel staff went above and beyond and made us feel like more than a number. They were attentive, engaging, smart and professional. In particular Nicole and Lucas at the front desk were amazing! All that is good but the room was top notch. Roomy yet comfortably modern - with a bonus view toward the lake.
