Super 8 by Wyndham Chicago IL

I'm trying to get my invoice for over 2 days now. But the team is refusing to send it. Even thought they have my reservation info. They say they dont have my email, but the reservation was done under this email and the chat does not allow me to send this information directly. Well...

This is not the Ritz. But it is affordable, close to an L stop, close to Loyola and on a main road so it’s easy to find. They do not offer maid service during your stay, we saw no breakfast (we brought granola bars so I wasn’t really looking) and the rooms are showing their age. But, they are clean, the hotel staff are very nice and there is free secure parking. At this price what more can you ask for? We will stay here again.

I was there with family for a family party… great place to stay, Clean & Comfortable major plus . You don’t find too many places where you feel like home. Staff were amazing and it shows that staying here means a lot . Plenty of parking, they just painted these rooms they look wonderful,clean crisp. Vicki always was there to answer any question about directions or a place to eat after Resturant closed.. she knew a lot of good places and great directions… who needs google maps we had Vicki. Thank you for a great stay… see you again in September

This is a budget hotel, no doubt. But for a quick stay on the north side of Chicago, it fit my needs perfectly. Dated but clean. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Free parking. I even had a Lake View room! (Had to look carefully, though.)

We really enjoyed our stay here. As a few mentioned in other reviews, there is a smell of old or damp carpet though that might just be on one floor. The rooms and facility were quite clean, the staff was very helpful and accommodating, and we'd stay here again. I do want to emphasize this isn't a 4 star hotel. I'm giving it 4 google stars because for the price, it was good.

They messed up our reservations and will not refund our money. They still want us to cancel the wrong reservation that they made for in September. And keep the money. Which is $679. They couldn’t get us a room for the week we originally asked for. But with a VERY empty parking lot. We are from South Carolina we drove 700+ miles for my grandpas funeral. They are very rude and NOT family friendly. highly recommend to not stay here. Plenty of complaints just like mine are being made.

I chose this place because of the location. Leone Beach and Loyola Park are about a block from the hotel so it took maybe 5-7 minutes to walk there with my 5 year old. It's about 25 minutes from Michigan Ave and maybe 35 from Shedd Aquarium. I also chose this place over an airbnb because of the continental breakfast thinking I could grab something without worrying about having to cook in the mornings. I never made the effort to get continental breakfast because I just didn't feel comfortable eating anything from there but that was me being judgy based on other aspects of the place so I can't speak to anything related to the continental breakfast or their kitchen.The beds were comfortable and room decor was decent for what it was. They have a small parking lot but it's Chicago so I guess that's to be expected. The receptionist area is very small but clean. The elevator is old, makes noises and constantly smelled like grape vape or maybe it was a flavored cbd pen. I'm not sure as I don't smoke but have been around the smell before. I didn't mind the smell but just sharing for other's awareness that may not care for it. LOL. I walked into my room to find there was a dip in the floor and the door guard was broken off the door. I will say the room and the bathroom were clean so no issues with that. The bathtub floor was squishy and moved so I assume there was water trapped under the floor. It was slightly difficult keeping a decent water temperature in the tub because the water would get really hot or really cold. I was able to achieve a temperature that I would say was hot but tolerable. It was definitely a few degrees above warm but I deal better with warm than I do with cold. LOL The employees that worked while we were there were extremely nice and welcoming. I didn't take pictures nor did I report it while I was there as my focus was on enjoying my short trip with my 5 year old. She was really excited about spending a lot of time at the beach. If you just need a place to sleep then this place will probably meet your needs. I really loved the area so in the future I will most likely try to get an airbnb but will use the Super 8 as a last resort if an airbnb is not available.

Great staff! Very polite. It’s a super 8. Don’t expect 5 stars. But it’s a bed and shower. They do have dish network. The beds are definitely comfortable. Overall, if you’re humble, this is your spot. I’d definitely stay here if I didn’t already live in Chicago. A business I work for used a couple rooms for our services.
