Hotel Riu Plaza Chicago

Staff is very nice! My favorite place to stay so far in Chicago. Arrived looking a little less then put together because of work and road trip. They still treated me like everyone else. The breakfast buffet is so good so many options. Had a problem with the air in my room at 1 am they sent an engineer to my room he was there in 7 minutes and apologized for taking so long. I was actually impressed how quickly he got there he had to replace the thermostat and had it done in 20 minutes. He was so kind. Rooftop bar very good drinks and appetizers. I would love to check out their other properties. The shower was amazing! Huge thing for me with hotels hot water and plenty of it.

Very nice stay at the Riu Chicago. This is a newer hotel that is clean and modern. The customer service is excellent and there is a nice breakfast buffet. Rooms are modern and clean, but lack some luxury; all though they do have a safe, mini fridge, coffee maker andiron. Bathrooms are nice with a rainfall shower and nice smelling toiletries. Of note, there is a daily “resort” fee of about 30 dollars per day which covers some basic services that would typically be included at any other hotel at this price point (baggage storage, 2 bottles of water at check-in, gym and access to the rooftop bar). Surrounding area is great, with many restaurants and only a few blocks to the water, Bally’s casino and Trader Joe’s. The neighborhood is safe. Staff at this property are exceptional - nice hospitality.

Beautiful new hotel in an excellent location. Buffet breakfast was extremely good. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. It was my husband's birthday and the hotel sent a box of truffles and a note which was very nice. |Loved the rooftop bar and just wished it opened earlier during the week. Great stay and would definitely return.

This Hotel is amazing! The food is incredible and the costumer service is spectacular!! Shout out Anderson!! The workout room has plenty of equipment and the rooms are very nice and clean! The breakfast has so many options and is very delicious! The location is amazing! Right next to so many things and the view from the rooftop is fabulous! The price is great for the service you are receiving! Would stay here again!

This was my first time coming to Chicago & I absolutely loved the service. My husband and I were greeted by such nice staff. ANDERSON is the BESTT!! He truly is an angel. He gave us options on what to do around the city, Also gave us a nice room with a view. Very thankful to cross paths with him. The hotel is amazing. I truly loved how clean, quiet and friendly everything was. The staff clean the rooms almost everyday and it was nice and the bar is a mustttttt. The bathroom is different but it’s soo cute and I love it. This made me love this hotel & might be my most favorite. Anyone looking for a reason to book. This is it. I will definitely be back.

I was looking forward to our stay at The Riu Plaza. Unfortunately, it did not exceed my expectations. The lobby was beautiful, our room not so much. It felt extremely dull compared to the rest of the hotel, and for me the room is important. I felt the hotel had more cons than pros. Cons: WiFi was spotty, and was not able to use the TV. Our bathroom door was broken, staff was notified but it was never fixed during our stay. Apparently, they only give you two complimentary waters during your entire stay. Room would get really hot despite the AC temp. The walls are extremely thin and you could hear every door down the hall closing in the AM and PM. Pros: Location was excellent and the breakfast they offer was great! Had a nice buffet set up and service was great! Room was clean.

Our first visit to Chicago, and we couldn't have asked for a better location! It was just a short walk to plenty of public transportation. Check-in went smoothly, and our room was spotless. The beds and pillows were super comfy. The laminate in the hallway was a bit noisy for my taste, though. On the bright side, the breakfast buffet was outstanding—everything we tried was delicious! Overall, it’s a lovely place, and I would definitely recommend it!

I recently stayed at this impressive, newly-built hotel in Chicago, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The location is fantastic, making it easy to explore the city. The bathroom was particularly impressive, with modern fixtures and a luxurious feel. The staff were incredibly accommodating, always ready to assist with a smile. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast buffet. It offered a variety of delicious foods, and the bacon was superb! However, the food selection didn't change daily, which might be a minor drawback for some. Overall, if you're looking for a nice holiday in Chicago, this hotel is definitely worth the price. It provides a comfortable and enjoyable stay with excellent amenities and service.
