The Gwen, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Michigan Avenue Chicago

I recently stayed at The Gwen, Chicago for a work trip, and overall, I had a great experience. The hotel has a stylish and upscale feel, and I’d definitely consider staying here again. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable - perfect for unwinding after a long day. The cleaning staff was fantastic, ensuring everything was spotless and well-maintained throughout my stay. The only downside is the unusual layout of the hotel. You have to take an elevator up to the lobby/bar area and then transfer to another set of elevators to reach your room. The process can take a while, especially when the elevators are slow, and you often have to pass through a busy common area. That said, the overall ambiance, service, and room quality more than made up for this minor inconvenience. If you don’t mind the extra steps and wait to get to your room, The Gwen is an excellent choice for a Chicago stay!

We stayed at the Gwen for my birthday trip to Chicago. It was the perfect location and the hotel and staff were all great. It was very clean, modern (but not ultra modern) and functional. I had some of the best french fries I've had in a long time there. It's a block from Michigan Ave and an easy walk to many places downtown, and an easy pick-up point for ubers (other than on the weekends when traffic is a little crazy). I would definitely go back again.

The Gwen is one of my favorite hotels in Chicago! The service and staff are exceptional! I’ve stayed there a few times both for personal and work. Our experience was great! I’d like to thank Chad and Krystal for helping us have a successful meeting. Also, Teresa and Stella from Banquets they were sweet, professional, attentive and helpful! Hotel is lucky to have them all. Highly recommend this hotel!

A stylish classy hotel. Large bathroom with separate tub and shower. Only down side is pump toiletries , takes like 8 pumps to get enough shampoo as less than pinkie finger nail worth comes out. Comfortable bed. Very nice lobby and bar with an outdoor terrace. The terrace has gas fire pits and blankets available. The hotel is in a great location short walking distance of a number of tourist sites. Friendly front desk employees, easy check in and out.

From the start, my husband and I were so impressed with the responsiveness and care from the team at The Gwen when we first started planning our wedding with them. Audrey and her staff responded to our emails and calls within the same day, often within just 5-10 minutes, which was incredibly helpful during the hectic wedding planning process. They were direct and attentive, making us feel like their top priority. The space itself was perfect for our 155-person wedding, with a gorgeous cocktail area and stunning reception space that matched our vision seamlessly. When our rabbi unexpectedly got sick right before the wedding, Audrey and her team quickly adapted and ensured we had everything we needed. They even made sure they had all the amenities in our suite that we needed. The Gwen's unparalleled service and beautiful venue made our special day truly unforgettable.

Stayed for business but one night wasn’t enough. It’s just such an upscale feeling the moment you walk into the lobby to go up to the check in. The lounge area is very quaint and welcoming. Customer service is very thorough and the room was divine. Bath tub and shower separate/ molton brown amenities. Very clean and very spacious. Definitely will be back

Well appointed with excellent service. The Gwen should be on your list of places to enjoy while in Chicago. If you want a modern and fun tea experience hit up the Tipsy Tea. Or if you simply want to enjoy the Chicago skyline and outdoors check out their outdoor/ rooftop patio. Multiple fire pits to enjoy the outdoor space for most of the year. Service was excellent, and unrushed. It's not inexpensive but we'll worth the price point for the overall experience.

We visited The Gwen to view the venue spaces for a bridal shower and had an excellent time and were treated with 5 star service from Luigi. Luigi took his time sharing information to us about the area, about the hotel and the spaces and amenities available. We also had a great time checking out the bar and Jason the bartender took great care of us and shared more information on Tipsy Tea Party. The service and hospitality from the staff members at The Gwen left a lasting impression and has us excited to consider this hotel for our event. Thank you Lugi and Jason for creating such a great experience!
