We stayed here on a long road trip. Our needs were not many: clean room, hot shower, good location. This property delivered. We got in late, found the bed comfortable, and the room fine. In the morning, the shower was hot and the bathroom clean (this is SO unusual in hotels). On checkout, we were eager to get on the road and really, really appreciated the prepacked "go bags" at the front desk (bags containing water, bagel, peanut butter and jelly, and an apple). That was such a nice touch and really helped us get a solid start. Thank you! It is true that the rooms don't have microwaves or fridges. It's slightly unusual but not unheard of by any means. We travel with a cooler for things that need to stay cold and I'm pretty sure I saw a microwave in the breakfast area so not having those things isn't disastrous. The location is brilliant if you're visiting UofI. It's right next to a Perkins if you need a quick bite in the evening. And the breakfast they offered looked like standard offerings kept tidy and hot.

Convenient location with easy, accessible parking. Facility is clean and simple to navigate. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well-lit. Though the bathroom was a bit small, we did have the option of taking a shower or bath. There is also a laundry room available for guests to use on the second floor.

My son stayed at your hotel on Saturday 3/1 and accidentally left behind a stuffed animal (shark) that was very sentimental. We called and spoke to someone one evening a few days later who said "yes, we have it right here! Call in the morning and ask the manager about shipping it back to you." When we called in the morning, the manager didn't know anything about it and said they didn't have it. Whatever we can do to retrieve our beloved stuffed shark would be greatly appreciated. He's traveled all over the country with us. We're heart broken.

Fine Hotel that was very close to the engineering buildings - walkable. The breakfast was well stocked and the workers were pretty pleasant in our interactions.||Shower wasn't my favorite as the pressure was a bit low. Bed was comfortable and AC worked well. Room was quite dark at night which was great.

0/5. This is my first time staying at a Hilton hotel, and my last staying at a Hampton Inn. I booked on the app without a problem. I thought the digital check-in feature was a nice touch, but it still required me to check in again in person? So I'm not sure what the point of it was. After that the issues kept flowing. I was given the wrong room (mine was supposed to have a microwave and a mini-fridge but did not) The pool/hot tub were closed and there was no mention of this on the app or website. This was upsetting because this was the only reason I chose to stay at this particular hotel. Next, the rooms lacked sufficient lighting, and were, to be frank, a little creepy. Finally the lady at the front counter was rude, and dismissive. She was in her phone throughout each interaction I had with her.

Cons: - Breakfast was completely inedible, and I generally am not picky about food in the morning. Potatoes were hard inside and had a metallic taste. Eggs were liquid and tasted of moldy water. Sausage also tasted metallic and rubbery. - The blow-dryers are attached to the bathroom walls, which is a challenge for me as I have a bad hip and need to sit down to blow dry my hair. Do you really have an issue with that many people stealing them? Come on. - Almost no lighting inside the room aside from 2 very small lamps with miniscule warm-toned light. It is hard to work in the room. Which many of us affiliated with the University need to be able to work. There is technically a little desk on the wall, which is actually cute, but zero light sources anywhere near the desk. Strange. Desks = lamp. Ceilings also should = lights. - No microwaves or refrigerators, as many reviews noted, but apparently a few select rooms do have them. I travel with mandatory medications that must be refrigerated. I asked the front desk (who appeared to be a student) if my room had a fridge, because I needed to keep my medications cold. To which she said "I have no idea if you room has a fridge," shrugged, and then stared blankly at me. Customer service skills are sorely lacking. - The overall hotel has a general musty smell and very old feel (not in a cute way either). It does not appear safe to be breathing the air here. They should tear down and build something else. They could easy afford to pay for a new building with how many people need to stay here by the campus. The pros: - Location, location, location! So convenient to walk to campus, especially the engineering side. - The bed was insanely comfortable. Like, melt in a cloud comfortable, with very fresh linens that felt so nice. - I loved that they had a deep soaking bathtub. This is helpful for my personal disability, but also just fun to take a bath when out of town and want to relax after a long bath. - The wood furniture in all of the rooms is very nice and has a high-quality feel to it. Exudes class. If Hilton does ever decide to replace this old building, definitely re-use the furniture.

Stayed one night for business. Staff was friendly and courteous. For a hotel adjacent to a major university, room had no USB ports (even the alarm clock was lacking a USB port). Doors to hotel rooms should close gently and quietly not abruptly and loud. Tub drained slowly, an issue that housekeeping should have noticed when they cleaned the tub. Overall, however, the stay was good and the breakfast area kept up with the demand. I will consider staying at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn next time.

I booked a room for a family member and clearly designated that my family member was the guest. The Hilton reservation system accepted my reservation. I have paid Hilton thousands of dollars as a Hilton “honors” member over the years. I was on the road and got a call from my family member telling me that the front desk would not let her check in. They wanted money. I had paid, but the hotel needed the physical credit card to seal the deal. I was, myself, on the road. I stopped my trip. I called the number on the reservation, and got a robot Hilton machine. After five menu selections I was eventually connected to the actual hotel desk. I explained that I had booked for a family member, was in transit, and would be grateful if my own guest could check in. No, she said, I. Use fill out a credit authorization form. I said that I was traveling and that stopping to make age red tape would be difficult. Basically she told me to f*** off, if no paperwork, no check in for my early arriving family member.||||I stopped at a nearby Hilton along my route, delaying my drive and risking missing departure time to just manage red tape, thinking that I must find a way to print a form, fill it out, and email back. Had the lady listened, and told me that the CC auth form was easily fillable via email, I would have just paused to fill in info that HILTON has had on file for years as I am a member of their little club. Instead, the lady at the Champaign Urbana desk was rude and insisted upon my filling out more duplicative digital paperwork.||||You have choices. I won’t book with Hilton again. One employee could have listened and helped a loyal customer, but instead was rude. My travel dollars henceforth will go to IHG or Marriott. Don’t book this particular hotel if you need any help from any live human being to help with simple reservation management.
