NillStayed here for the weekend for the Iowa state wrestling tournament, hoping this hotel would be better than the one I stayed at last year. Well it wasn’t, the bathroom is nice, that’s about it. My air conditioning wasn’t working, so I made a complaint about it. The person at the front desk said just turn it off, it’s cool outside it should cool down your room. Um yeah how do you expect me to do that when I can’t even open the windows because there is no screen protector. Hilarious a hotel can’t afford to put screen protectors on their windows. I will not be coming back here ever.

★★★★★My friend and I stayed here prior to a bike tour. It was one of three recommended by the tour company. The rooms were large, bed and pillows comfortable and shower pressure good. The breakfast buffet offered an adequate number of hot/cold items. The hotel offers parking for a fee. We left a car for five days and paid. $35. The front desk staff were friendly and welcomed us back when we returned to pick up our car.

NillGreat location near the airport. Rooms were. We clean as was the entire hotel. My only issue was the woman working Friday morning at the front desk. I arrived late Thursday night and used my digital key and bypassed traditional check in. After breakfast I went to front and asked for a bottled water. Her response was ok but the next one you will have to pay for. I told her I was a gold member and she said I should have gotten it when I checked in. I understand these are not free but to rudely remind a guest of this is unacceptable.

NillI needed a room for a late arrival, and this hotel worked out perfectly. The shuttle driver was friendly, professional, and made for an enjoyable short conversation. Every staff member I interacted with was equally friendly and professional. The room was clean, modern, and met my expectations. Breakfast was standard but exactly what I anticipated. Overall, it is a solid choice for an airport hotel in Des Moines Iowa.

★★★★I stayed at this hotel for its reasonable price and proximity to the airport. The airport shuttle was great (ran on time, friendly staff) and the front desk staff were also courteous and pleasant. The hotel is older but well maintained, and my room was clean. The bed was comfortable and everything in the room worked properly. Lots of amenities, such as microwave, mini fridge, rolling desk, power pod, reading lamp & iron with board. Had a nice looking outdoor pool, but I had no time to use it. Hy-Vee Grocery 10 minute walk away. Overall, a very good stay & great value at this price.

NillWe had trouble controlling the temperature in our room but it wasn’t bad. Shuttle took us to the airport and in the check in line I remembered my medication in the fridge. I called and the driver went to our room and got it AND all the chargers I’d left as well. He was back in less than 10 minutes. Kudos to him.

NillThe bathroom was not clean. Hair on the ceiling. Marks on the door and wall in the bathroom. The TV stand was cracked. Some type of liquid was splattered on the ceiling in the room. Also, there were stains on the sheets on one of the beds. The customer service was very nice though!!

NillI didn't stay at this hotel but was almost hit by their shuttle driver that was on duty tonight at 7:45 p.m. I am in a wheelchair and was using the sidewalk to get back to my hotel. As I came to the driveway for this hotel, I was very near to crossing when this driver sped out from the lot and blocked me from crossing. If I hadn't been paying attention, it would have been much worse. If this is the caliber of employees they hire, I'm really happy I chose another hotel. UPDATE: Right after this incident happened, I called and asked to speak with the manger. I was told she wasn't in, but I was adamant about speaking to her, so the employee (7:45 p.m.) took my number. Imagine my surprise when I didn't receive a call last night, or today. So, did the employee not give her my number, or does the manager not even care!? Probably both. Really glad I did not give this hotel my money during this trip!
