I would say it’s a good experience for 4 4-night stay here, everything is perfect. We cooked and laundered. The host responded quickly and it’s pretty close to Yellowstone, affordable price during peak season, and tidy rooms with towels. I will book here next time.

I booked a room on Thursday for Friday night. When I booked the room, I received a text message from the motel saying that they sent me an email. I checked my email over the next 24 hours but never received an email. I arrived at the Motel at 7 pm for check in and went to the front door which instructs you to not knock on the door, but call a number. When I called to check in, the man says that I do not have a reservation and that they had canceled my reservation and not charged me. He said it was because I didn't respond to the email. I explained that I didn't get an email and he didn't care. Obviously, I was without a room in a small town that had no other rooms available. I asked him where I was supposed to sleep, and he told me that I should have thought of that before I didn't respond to the email (that never came), then hung up on me!

I made a short notice trip to Yellowstone and this was the only place available in town the day of my arrival. The outside looks a bit rough but the room was great and had a homey Grandma's cabin feel to it. You can tell they put a lot of effort into decorating and there was a shelf stacked full of books about the park. No children or pets are allowed which I'm in favor of because it was dead silent both nights. No complaints at all. It's more of a AirBnb system here but check-in and checkout were easy and convenient.

Avoid at all costs - I saw the staff cleaning the coffee pots with the same filthy rags they wipe the toilet with. AVOID. ||ALSO The staff is the nastiest I've ever seen or encountered, and the outside looks like a dirt lot dump with 5 cabins stuck in the middle. So many better options in W. yellowstone

This place is listed on Airbnb in West Yellowstone The good: hot water for showers, taps Kitchen has quite a few amenities including cling wrap, oven, microwave etc The bad: 1. Structurally, the walls are paper thin, we can hear details of every conversation around us, you can hear people opening and closing car doors when they come back at night/leave in the morning, even 2 units down 2. Beware! They have lots of rules that are not listed as additional rules in the Airbnb listing. This includes you are not allowed to switch on the TV or shower from 10pm-7am! When we came, sunset in Yellowstone was 9.30pm. So you effectively have a curfew because if you want to end your day with a shower, you have to be back before 10pm. Given speed limits in the park at 45mph and delays due to bison jams etc it really puts a huge restriction on the time you have to come home 3. The host said in his messages that it was not our fault and it was a request to shower before 10pm. But the host actually reported us to Airbnb when we showered at 10.30pm! Luckily, we managed to explain to Airbnb that this additional rule was not explicitly mentioned on the listing. We tried our best to shower as early as possible and then he reported us! First time we’ve ever been reported to Airbnb. We are very compliant users but throwing a shower curfew as an additional rule after guests have moved in is not responsible behaviour for a operating business. When you rent the room as a private space including the private bathroom, it doesn’t seem reasonable to restrict usage hours unless it is expressly indicated prior to booking 4. Many prior reviews have a common consensus that thin walls are a flaw of this property. Instead of trying to provide some compensation or a soundproofing solution, the host reports their guest for not following a rule that is not transparent. We never agreed to this rule. The rule is essentially is a penalty on the guest due to a flaw intrinsic to the property. 5. Shower door is broken, cannot close properly and leaks water out 6. Baseboard heater is small and inefficient, we came late Spring (end may) and it takes a solid 2-3 hours before it’s warm enough inside to take your jackets off. We requested for a portable heater but they do not have one 7. Parking at your door is very tight, lots of difficulty shifting out in the morning unless you park a distance away from your unit (have to carry things in) All in all, we do not recommend this place. It may be affordable relative to the other properties nearby but I’ll let you decide if it’s worth the time and effort going back and forth with Airbnb Support on your holiday, after a long, hard drive up to Yellowstone.

Beware - DO NOT BOOK to stay at the Yellowstone Motel, West Yellowstone! We booked and paid for this accommodation on April 8, 2024 through Booking.com. Not only did this place overcharge our credit card , on arrival on May 27 2024, we were refused entry (doubtless because we had questioned the charge). Basically - Yellowstone Motel stole our funds and lied to Booking.com (that our credit card was invalid) and lied to us - claiming we had been refunded - never happened! Beside the place being extremely tacky-looking - just trailers - the management is a cheat, a thief and a liar, plus text-abusive. Other travellers' reviews describe same or similar experiences (see: Trip Advisor). The townspeople (including officials) all 'knew' about this man/place - but no action appears to ever been taken regarding complaints received, as the motel continues to operate, continues to scam travellers - an indictment on the town of West Yellowstone!

The room was nice but the disappointment here was that we booked this through Airbnb and at no point was it ever said that this is a motel and it is basically a motel. The rooms had everything you need (kitchenette) and generous supplies. They asked that you not use the TV after 9 PM or basically use it with no volume. Then we woke at almost 2 AM with the next room playing a movie on their TV with lots of volume. Maybe a more reasonable rule of not after 11 PM would be taken more seriously. Their only option offered for this time of year with no staff on site was to call the police and we weren't going to do that.
