We were looking forward to staying in town overnight. We had had a drink at the bar in the past and loved the historical feel. But, I wouldn't stay at the hotel. We had a room out of the main building. Definitely, not historical unless your history is 1960-1970, the last time the room was updated. The room smelled and the curtains were falling off the windows. There was an unsealed, unlabeled liquor in the room. We checked in and checked out an hour later. Too bad the hotel has not be updated in the last 50 years.

The rooms at this inn are wonderful. They are big and very comfortable. They make you feel like you are in a Hallmark movie. It is located in a perfect part of town so you can just park your car ( the inn has ample free parking) and walk around the beautiful downtown. The food is delicious. I really enjoyed my stay.

This was our second stay at Beekman Arms, and it was another great little getaway. It’s the perfect location in Rhinebeck and there’s some cool stuff to do in the neighboring towns too. We will definitely be back. For whatever reason this time around staff didn’t seem very happy, but it didn’t ruin our trip.

We stayed at the Thompson House (I believe that's what its called) right around the corner from the Beekman Arms. The building appears to be connected. Anyway, it was a huge room with giant closet and bathroom - compared to the average hotel room - and it had tons of charm and couldn't be in a more convenient location. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable and the room was super quiet, as there are only four other rooms at this location. There is a great little bagel shop right across the street, so that's where we fueled up in the AM, so I can't speak to the continental breakfast they offer. We loved our stay! Parking can be a little congested but it is honestly not a big deal at all and didn't effect us whatsoever. Would stay here again in a heartbeat - only wish the front desk staff were a little more pleasant (no thank you for staying - how was your visit, etc.) but that seems to be the norm anymore. Overall, this was a home run!

Been staying at the Beekman Arms for countless years. Always a cozy, clean room with the charm of an old, historical building (and we’ve stayed in almost all the buildings). I do feel that the rooms have become dated and worn over the last few visits and in dire need of refreshing. For instance, the curtains in our last room were completely tattered and hanging from flimsy curtain rods that were falling off the wall. They did not provide much privacy or for that matter ambience to the room. The bathroom sink was badly chipped and rusted near the drain. Again, not providing much appeal for a historic inn experience. A fresh coat of paint would also work wonders. That said, I feel the room was otherwise clean. While I understand times have been tough, I hope the Beekman Arms can afford to address some of these issues in their rooms to once again bring us back to the classier inn stay of years past.

For us the hotel's attraction was it's main building. We knew our room would not be in the main building, however it's one of those things where you continue booking it, forgetting you're not staying in the main building with all the charm and history. We booked a room in the Carriage House through their website, based on photos - we liked the charm of the room. Upon arrival, they switched rooms and put us into a more plain jane building (Delemeter). They never told us, just handed us the keys. Later, we called the front desk to ask why we didn't get the room we booked, they gave conflicting reasons and said they upgraded us. The room we're in is adequate, but it has no charm - back to our original intent as to what drew us to this hotel in the first place. Furthermore, I saw a cc charge come through higher than our reservation amount. In the end, I got no clear answer, nor apology for the switch (other than to tell me once more we received an upgraded room), and conceding to the lower amount per the reservation, as if to say "be glad we at least did that". I'm sure they are good people and a reputable hotel, given as long as they have been in business, but honestly - we're not coming back here. I feel a little taken advantage of and I just don't think that's right. There are other options, we don't have to come here.

The breakfast experience was terrible: the room is far too small to accommodate all guests, with too few tables, so you have to stand and wait for a spot to free up. The breakfast options are incredibly dull, and it feels like a fast-food restaurant, eating from paper plates and cups. Staff refused to refill bread and yogurt just 20 minutes before breakfast closed, which was disappointing. This hotel is definitely not worth $300 per night—consider staying elsewhere. Rhinebeck is a lovely city with fantastic restaurants, though, so you’ll still have great dining options nearby

Nice staff, good food. First night, Toilet overflowed. They dropped off a plunger at my door. I did the rest. |That night they forgot to turn the Boiler back on and Temp in room was 53 degrees. |Next morning, all wall outlets tripped. Couldn't charge phone or laptop. |Second night boiler was working, got to 84degrees in room. Had to open windows, even though it was 39 degrees outside.
