Like always we found the staff to be friendly, the cabin was clean, comfortable beds/pillows. It's a quiet spot away from the commotion of the bars, real close to Hinemanns Winery one of our favorites. Close to the airport and the ferry dock. We stay here 2-3 times a year & have never been disappointed.

I recently stayed at Birds Next Motel and had a wonderful experience! The beds were incredibly soft and comfortable, making it easy to get a great night's sleep. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, which added to the overall comfort of my stay. I also appreciated how quiet the place was; it was the perfect environment to relax and unwind.Plus my dog enjoys it there. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay in this charming room! We found it comfortable. Definitely worth the extra for an efficiency as it was nice to have a coffee maker and a fridge in the room. Two double beds was fine for our two adults, one kid family. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend. Also I would recommend renting a golf cart here as it was very convenient and less expensive than the golf cart rental places.

This was our third stay here. It's always a pleasant experience. The entire staff is so friendly and helpful! They bend over backwards to keep their guests happy and comfortable! This time we had just the double room with four people. It was perfect for our short 3-day stay. Mini fridge actually holds a lot. Microwave came in handy. Complimentary coffee in the office. We used one of their charcoal grills to cook two nights. Such a cozy place!

I'm very sorry to be writing this negative review. about the Birds Nest. All of you can see that I had submitted a Very positive review in 2018 (below).||Since that time, my fiancé and I have stayed at the birds nest on three other occasions, the first 2 of which were great! However, we went again on the weekend of August 2, 2024, and - well, Immediately upon entering unit #9, we smelled an strong odor of urine in the bathroom - especially when we opened the sink cabinet. Apparently, someone thought it would be funny to take a leak in there and let it soak into the wood. And there was no getting away from it! Besides that, we soon realized that the shower wasn't working right. The water was ice cold, but then if you turned it just a little, it would become far too hot! We played around with it for a while but could not get it to a decent medium temperature.||By this time, the office was closed so I sent an email to the manager, Angela, and let her know that I will come to the office in the morning and hope to either switch units or have these issues dealt with somehow. ||When I arrived in the morning, Angela was not there but I was greeted by a nice guy who was communicating with her. I was told that housekeeping will address the urine odor, and a maintenance person will check out the shower. I also received a nice email from Angela herself, so it felt as though things will be handled OK. ||With that, my fiancé & I left the unit for atleast 4 hours and enjoyed the island. When we came back that afternoon, we walked into the same experience: the urine odor and same issue with the shower. By then, the office was closed, so we just had to live with these issues for the remainder of the weekend. I sent another email to Angela, but there has been no response to this day, and not even a partial refund. ||||The true disappointment is, this resort used to be awesome when Angela was in the office more, and cared to handle things herself. It has obviously gone downhill since she has chosen to take the backseat. And apparently, when guests have issues like these, she sends one nice “Let me see what I can do” e-mail but then just lets the chips fall where they may & goes silent, instead of ensuring that guests will return in the future. ||||Bottom line: You may want to look elsewhere to stay on the island. But if you do stay at this place, be prepared for zero help if the shower doesn’t work and/or you have to smell piss all weekend, or something else goes wrong. :/

The stay overall was good. The rooms are clean. Attempted to get a late check out and that was sort of an issue even though there was vacancy for the type of room we booked. Was able to get a noon check out but didn’t have an issue with a late check out the year prior. So that was disappointing. If it was fully booked I’d understand. Otherwise good place to stay.

Nice stay overall, we dealt with Ed the first day (friday) for check in needs. I stated we had a golf cart and is that fine to park also he said yes, we did not know they had carts. He asked what we paid, for two overnights days and he offered one less as a reference. very kind. Which would have been friday am to sunday 12 or so. My trouble with that, is the next day my sister came in, so we went to the office first ( Saturday am ) for a cart for her. young man with glasses was there, and said $100 for the day. I said okay what about overnight. he said that's two days $200.????? How does that make sense. So we will pass next time. Otherwise the cabin, the grounds, etc were nicely kept and a good area close to ferry, winery etc and we would for sure stay again.

I stayed here once when the previous owner had it and swore I would never stay again. When I heard it was under new ownership and the new owners were fixing the place up, I decided to give it another shot. I am so glad that I did. I have stayed here multiple times now and it just gets better every year. I will never stay anywhere else on the island. The rooms are clean and have been renovated. Still rustic but that's what makes it so charming. Love staying in the 2 and 3 bedroom cottages which have a full kitchen (if you don't want to spend extra money going out to eat), screened in porches, large bathrooms, and nice living room areas. We also like that we can bring our dogs for a small fee and there is a big dog park within walking distance of The Birds Nest. The golf cart rentals are also a nice option and you get to keep them overnight during your stay. The management is very nice and helpful...Ed and Angie are awesome! My happy place away from home.
