Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel

Recently stayed Mon-Friday with a very reasonable rate and beautiful river view of the Marina and bridges. Wonderful walking path and easy walk into downtown. But not IN the downtown which was perfect. Two tours picked us up at the hotel which was convenient. We got a $50 credit for breakfast every day in the very nice restaurant. Complimentary Wine & app every night 5-6pm. Room was very spacious. Pet friendly. Highly recommend.

I recently stayed here for a short birthday getaway and it was such a great experience from check in to check out. I really appreciated the high level of customer service and how kind the entire team there was. My birthday was made even more special by getting welcomed with cake! The view from our room was lovely and all the dining experiences we had at the King Tide restaurant were great both dining in and room service. The area surrounding the hotel is perfect for a relaxing stroll and there were lots of options for dining and coffee right by within walking distance. The design aesthetic of the hotel was a nice balance of rich vintage with some brighter modern touches and overall a very cozy vibe and warm vibe. I will definitely book another stay here.

Loved everything about our stay! The staff was so friendly & helpfully. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage for a friends birthday celebration & they were so kind to send up desserts & beverages to make it extra special. The cottage was spacious & a fantastic layout. Clean & comfortable bedrooms & a great river view. I would recommend the kimpton to anyone staying in Portland.

This hotel is fantastic! It’s located in a great spot with beautiful views of the river. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were really comfortable. I had an amazing time there and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Portland. The restaurant is great, and they even give you some credits if you stay at the hotel. The hotel has valet parking, which is a bit pricey, but there are a few spots for street parking nearby.

This is my second time staying in this hotel and both times have been amazing. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave you’re treated with excellence. Excellent location with great views and easy access to good restaurants and venues. Also very close to transit to travel anywhere downtown so no car needed unless you plant on traveling outside of the downtown area. This is by far one of my favorites and we look forward to coming back again!

Short but wonderful, anniversary night. Shout out to Lily and Valeria for making our special occasion all that more special! They arranged a river view upgrade, and sent Sparkling wine, a bottle of Pellegrino, and chocolate bars, along with a very sweet note. Methinks we just found our new GOTO in Portland!|We opted for the pancakes and parking package, which turned outs to be a great deal. Complimentary parking, $50 credit for breakfast, and also included another $20 hotel credit to use as desired. And a very gracious wine tasting each evening.|Love the hotel, love the location, and love those happy hour oysters!|We will return.|Kevin & Pat. March 01, 2025

I grew up in Portland and come back a few times a year to visit my parents, I prefer to stay in a hotel so we usually get two rooms - one for my husband and me and one for our two kids. We normally stay at the Nines but decided to switch it up for the Kimpton Riverplace. I booked through Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts. ||The Riverplace has a great location - right on the river and close to the sights. When I was growing up it was the nicest hotel in Portland. The rooms are nice but the bathrooms feel like a comfort inn. ||We enjoyed our stay but there were multiple service misses. We had a hard time getting on the WiFi and the front desk was not helpful. Room service was a mess. Food quality was inconsistent and our orders were usually missing items and the food was cold. ||Service felt lukewarm which I don’t expect with Amex FHR. To their credit, they really seem to care about providing good service because they repeatedly asked for feedback and tried to make things right. ||It would be great if there were no misses to begin with.||As an aside, the bunk bed rooms are fantastic for kids because the bunk bed part is a separate room with couches and a TV. There does not seem to be much of a price difference between the bunk bed room and a standard room.

Great stay! Rooms were cute, well maintained, and very clean. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location is central to downtown and it’s easy to get around quickly. Would definitely stay here again!
