AC Hotel Portland Downtown, OR

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Convenient location that is so centrally located, it's a quick walk in any direction to just about everything! Felt very safe, and though I didn't use valet at any point, they keep the lines short and were very helpful in opening the doors for everyone throughout the day. The room itself was nicely updated and new. Downsides: bed was hard, pillows were between the extreme of super super flat to super super puffy/hard. The bathroom has a barn door slider that doesn't lock (so if you have kids ... or even a nosy partner... be prepared for them to walk in on you in the bathroom, shower, etc.) The first room we checked into had a lot of little hairs all over (mattress, pillows, sink). We got a new room but the second room was still a less extreme case with the same problem. At that point we just cleaned as much as we could and dealt with it. We also were a bit disappointed because we booked this hotel mainly because it said there was complimentary breakfast included - there's not. That is more so booking.com's fault though since it was mislabeled. There's a paid breakfast option available though but the food wasn't even that glorious to go out of your way for it. There's plenty of fantastic restaurants nearby though so it wasn't a problem. Front desk workers are super nice! I'd stay again, overall.

Loved the location, staff, and would gladly stay here again in the future. Everyone at the front desk was great, the room was comfortable and I always felt safe as a solo woman in downtown Portland. Lots of food options that are walkable from the hotel too. Overall noise level was quiet. The shower does have a gap at the door like mentioned by another reviewer which could easily make a mess of the water, but all I had to do was angle the shower head away from the door and it was fine. The fridge in the room worked great too!

HECTOR IS AMAZING! He has helped in so many ways. He’s a great problem solver. He needs a raise! Our stay was amazing! This hotel is nice and very accommodating! Best service i ever had travelling.

The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. Concierge provides exceptional hospitality, and event staff are receptive, available, and extremely helpful for using additional meeting space for private events. A shining moment for us was the friendly, professional service we received from Christy (Krissy?) in the AC Kitchen at breakfast every morning. The spread was great, and the hot options were delicious. Christy got to know us over our stay and was extremely kind. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. My only frustration during our stay was noisy neighbors returning to their rooms late on a Saturday night. This is no fault of the hotel's and they couldn't be heard once they finally retired to their rooms from the hotel hallway.

Overall a decent stay. Would have been nice if room service was available. Also they misplaced our car we valeted with them for a few moments. Apparently they were training new people.

AC Downtown Portland (Oregon) wants to pass itself off as a stylish, full-service hotel, but you'd have better service in a roadside motel. There's a lounge -- but it's open only twice a week. There's supposed to be a restaurant, but it's a breakfast room with a very limited menu. Housekeeping is only on request -- and only after three nights!! -- and they won't change the sheets. Hotel policy tries to pass this off as green, when it's really just to save on labor costs. There aren't enough valets for the expensive valet service, or enough luggage carts, and the carts are like small shopping carts, not big enough if you are in the middle of a long trip. Not at all worth the prices.

The six of us spent several days here. Grandparents, parents, 2 kids (9 & 12) on a family vacation. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Fast internet access was $9.95 per room. I thought paying for the that ended 15 years ago. We paid for one day. (It wasn’t very fast. ) $49 per day for parking. Valet only. Plus tip whenever you come and go. After day one we easily parked on the street for a few dollars per day. We didn’t have the breakfast buffet at the hotel. It looked ok. ($15.95). There are many good places to eat within a few blocks of the hotel.

Greeted by friendly front desk staff. The room was clean and spacious. They had a wine tasting in the lobby. Mike, the wine rep was very knowledgeable. Great location with plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance.
