NillWe were looking at the land next door and inadvertently startled the owner. She was amazing, so inviting and helpful. The view from every room is spectacular. With a lovely stretch of beach just down a private staircase. If you are looking for fresh air, great views and staying outside the hustle of the city... I highly recommend Ocean Haven. Loved meeting you Tracy. You were one of the most unexpected highlights of our road trip.

★★★★★It is indeed a rare occurrence to arrive at a place I have never been before and find it completely meets all of my expectations, and almost never to exceed them as Ocean Haven has. My North View room had everything I needed and more. The view is exceptional, and I went to sleep with the relaxing sound of the ocean and woke with the same watching the water change colors as the sun lifted. By the 2nd morning I was completely immersed in my surroundings.||The tidepools here are amazing as are the seals, sand and beach treasures left behind by tides. What a bonus to have my new love Cape Perpetua as a close neighbor! Hiking the trails on the east side of the highway and spending a great deal of time wandering around Thors Well and Devils Churn are my idea of a well spent day. When I returned, I enjoyed the sundeck in the afternoon with a book and glass of wine. (And blackberries in season)||Yachats is close enough to have a great meal if you don't want to cook and bring back take-out as well. There are some unassuming small cafe's that I loved, and Bread and Roses bakery also won't disappoint. ||Gary and Tracy, the hosts of this magical place are two of the nicest people I've ever met and when I return next year (for a much longer stay) It will feel like I am coming to visit my friends and stay in the guest house on their beautiful property.||Many thanks for sharing it with me for a time.

★★★★★Stayed 12 days last year (2020) and stayed 20 days this year. The views of the ocean, sky, birds, tide pooling, whale sightings all from the room or on the beach just behind the room made for a great stay. Room was clean and well equipped for all of our cooking and meal needs. We always had moved around on our yearly visits to the Oregon coast but due to this location, the room, and Our Hosts helping us with a few minor requests, we'll be returning next year again. We were able to stay busy everyday by long walks on the beach between Depoe Bay and Florence. The motto "where the Forest meets the Sea" made it very easy for us to alternate our hikes on the beach and amongst the trees .We went to the farmers markets in the different cities close by, visited, the Hatfield Marine Center and took a tour of the Newport fishing fleet and docks. It was a pleasure coming back to the room each day as it never felt like your usual hotel room but a relaxing space with a captivating view. Host Tracy and Gary made us feel at home and this is exactly why we'll be back next year. Thanks Again......... Bruce/Maureen Ocala Fl.

★★★★★Midway between Florence and Yachats and along Hwy 101, is this roadside lodge aptly named Ocean Haven. ||Covid kept us from going to Hawaii for our anniversary and instead we opted for Oregon’s beach scene. From Portland we took the scenic route and cut over at Junction City and hit 101 at Florence. ||Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly caretaker who promptly showed us to our room, Sky View. True to the website photos, the room was cozy and tidy. The outdated furnishings give it the funky appeal. While a bit weathered everything was clean. ||The trail to the beach is also as advertised. It’s narrow and recommended for people who are comfortable walking on uneven surfaces. Be careful of the tides and avoid the beach access at high tide. Nonetheless we wore our boots and enjoyed the well pruned walkway. ||The view from the room is mesmerizing. ||The full size refrigerator accommodated all the food we brought for our 4 night stay. The kitchenette was adequately supplied. We were grateful for the variety of teas and coffee. ||Pro tip: ideal for couples looking for a romantic getaway and anyone that wants some contemplative time. |

★★★★★My wife and I stayed here the first night of our honeymoon and have just returned 30 years later. Our old room is now the garage but we liked the new room even more. We stayed in the "South View" room and was very pleased with everything. None of the other places we've stayed at on the coast have a comfortable place to sit and relax but this room has 2 recliners. The bed is very warm and comfortable and the sound of the ocean lulls you to sleep. Before you decide to stay here, you need to understand that this isn't a 5 star chain hotel. It's a very cozy, quiet and comfortable room with a cabin feel and an amazing view. We've traveled the coast many times and have stayed in over $400 a night rooms, and this is still one of our favorites. The owners are very nice and accommodating and we look forward to seeing them again. Be sure to take the stairs to the beach if you're in decent shape.

★★★★★Just returned from three nights in the Northview. The views are perfect, even though our first day it rained all day we were so content watching the storm and resting. Clearly the owners care and are creative souls because it's just a perfect retreat from the views, to the great decor and stone bathroom, to the well maintained stairs/trail to the beach. I have "bad knees" but was able to get to the beach - stairs and handrails are solid and shrubs are trimmed back. The entire place is fun, with fun decor items outside as well as thoughtful interior decor, including a porthole mirror in the bathroom and really interesting live-edge style dining table. The bookshelf was full of great reads from poetry to novels to lots of books about the area. We cooked all our meals in the well set up and very clean kitchen.||PROS: Amazing views, super clean, everything you need for a comfortable stay. The room was the quietest I've ever stayed in - we never heard another guest or any sound from Hwy 101. We appreciated the steps taken to be eco-friendly (composting, recyling, great hair and body products in the shower), the little touches like binoculars, tons of battery operated lights in case of a power outage, walking sticks in the closet, books and local resources. Bed was comfy too! The recliners were perfect for wave watching and reading.||CONS: Only a couple small things...when they say the wifi is "spotty" take that seriously! We had almost no wifi and no Verizon cell except for a random moment about once a day when texts would show up on our phones. Pillows are meh. But hotel pillows are always pretty awful so that's not unusual.||QUIRKS: Dining table is quite high and I laughed each time I sat to eat, I needed a booster seat! ||Quick drive to Yachats for restaurants and stores.

NillLoved it! So beautiful and comfortable. The cabin was so cute. We loved the cat Lola. She hangs outside. Lots of hummingbirds getting nectar out of the pretty purple flowers in front of our windows l. So peaceful. I recommend this place to everyone.

★★★★★Funky little place on the cliffs of Oregon coast, about 15-20 minutes south of the quaint town of Yachats. You could cook a full Sunday dinner here, all amenities are there. Our choice was the North View Suite, which sleeps 6, but was just for the 2 of us. ||Provided: Full-size frig/freezer, Microwave, stove, oven, dining table for 6, soaps, shampoo, cream rinse, dishes, cooking pots, cutlery. What amazing Views of the ocean!!! We enjoyed all 3 nights after sightseeing sitting in recliners looking out at the roaring ocean and watching the sunset. You could walk down to the beach via stairs and investigate the craggy shoreline. Each night we slept with our windows open and were lulled to sleep by the roar of the ocean waves. Amazing experience! Be aware that because of its remoteness, due to storms and winds power may be lost which affects the toilet flushing and of course the lights/electricity, shower, which happened for a maybe half a day. Happily we were out and about for most of it. Hosts provided jugs of non-potable water to flush the toilet. I do recommend bringing your own potable water for drinking just in case. Finally, should we ever go back to the Oregon coast, THIS IS THE PLACE WE WOULD RETURN TO. The funky colorful decor is a real experience and helped us decide that this was going to be a great experience. A lovely place to stay.
