GrandStay Residential Suites Hotel Rapid City

The hotel was being remodeled and there was basically no fitness equipment. Our room was clean, but very dated. The location wasn't terrible, but it wasn't as convenient as I would like it to have been. There is a pool that is tiny. There is a fitness room with 3 pieces of equipment that are dated. Hopefully by summer it will be a 4 instead of a 2.

We get great cleanliness and nice staff/breakfast at this hotel after a couple of stays. Suite rooms are awesome though a little dated in decor. Breakfast is good, pool is clean, but hot tub was cold this time. Overall, still a good stay and great value.

I think I would mostly just say this: for the price, this is a really good place to stay.|To steal, in part, from a previous review: it is quiet, it is spacious, and thus comfortable, even though the furniture is neither top quality nor new, and it has an actual kitchen. This is a good location to stay to explore downtown Rapid City, the Black Hills and at a greater distance, the Badlands, and even further, Devil's Tower.|The only "downside" is that it is not "fresh" / recently renovated. But we stayed two nights, and found it a very good place to stay. Especially if you are considering value for the money, and want a bit of space an typical hotel room doesn't offer.

Key card reader didn't want to work properly. Almost walked down to the front desk 2 different times to see if the card just didn't program. Room looked very nice. But bathroom wasn't properly taken care of. Dirty toilet and no TP on the roll. But there was a backup roll if needed. And when leaving, there was a place where someone threw up in the hallway. I don't entirely blame the place for it. Everyone seemed very nice and helpful. But it wasn't a great experience because of the listed issues

The beds are big and very comfortable. Pretty quiet rooms during the nighttime. There is free breakfast for everyone served downstairs. They also have an indoor heated pool, but we didn’t have time to use it. Unfortunately, the microwave was slightly broken, and the sheets had stains. That’s why I can’t give it 5 stars. Price is okay.

Have stayed here 3 times. Will be a repeat customer. Such a wonderful place to stay. Super clean and accommodating. Continental breakfast is wonderful!!

Water pressure was so high in the bathtub that the bath was filling up while the drain was unplugged - hard on our skin. The bathtub faucet was constantly leaking and was not corrected after a maintenance visit. Probably due to high pressure. Faucet in kitchenette was leaking as well. Probably high water pressure as well. You're gonna have big problems if not adjusted! We didn't find any utensils until in the morning we opened the dishwasher, which had dirty dishes in it. We invited our grandson to swim with us, but the water was so cloudy that goggles were mandatory. The water was cold, too. There were 3 extra pillows in the garment/hanger in the bedroom, but they did not have pillow-cases on them. Eeew. Lastly, after we arrived back home, we were charged 2x on our credit card ($46.09 & $98.96) which was erroneously charged instead of being charged to Expedia, which we used to book the 3 nights. We are told these will be reversed (to be seen).

Hands down, most wonderful service, large clean room, friendly staff, calming atmosphere, and comfortable beds during our move across the country. My only complaint is that I couldn't have stayed more nights. I highly recommend this hotel. Oh, and I felt extremely safe. Which is vitally important being a mother traveling with her child. I only gave 5 stars because there are not more to give.
