I had an amazing experience! The place is stunning, and the lady at the reception was incredibly kind and helpful. The pool area was peaceful, and the bartenders were very friendly and attentive. Our room was spotless and well-organized, with a lovely view of the sea that made our stay even more special. The decoration and atmosphere throughout the property were beautiful, and the colorful hallways added a vibrant touch. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. I absolutely loved everything about my stay and highly recommend this place!

Highly recommended. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The room was quaint, the bed and pillows made up for the lack of shower water pressure. There was only an expresso machine in the room, but not a big deal when there’s coffee downstairs. And let me tell you, the Monarch has the most amazing grits and chicken sausage, spectacular-give me 14 of ‘em. The staff, every single staff member from the valet, to the guest services, to the bartenders and restaurant staff are absolutely top tier. They will go out of their way to accommodate your requests and ensure you truly enjoy your visit. Every person was kind, friendly and professional. The staff truly round out the experience, they know the location so well and really are just fantastic. Great experience.

the best hotel EVER!!! Seriously. Stayed on floor 6 & then in haunted room 501 & had a great time both rooms. Comfy, clean, and amazing service. I’ve stayed in HUNDREDS of hotels & none come close to grand Galvez. The history of the hotel is beyond interesting & the view of the ocean is incredible. Love this place so much, can’t wait to come back again.

Love this beautiful historical hotel. The restaurant is also amazing. Good food, great prices, and amazing service. All of the staff is super friendly and attentive. Shout out to Ryan in valet parking. He parked the car, helped me get everything to the room, and set up the roll away bed for my daughter. I didn't have to ask. He saw me struggling with her wheel chair and the bags, and he just took charge. Exceptional stay.

Just completed a 3 night stay. From the valet to housekeeping and everyone in between was too notch. Upon arrival for a business stay I was able to check in early. My room was spotless and well appointed. There was a second conference also at hotel so a full house but the staff never missed a beat. The valet team..wow completely set the bar high at one point both conferences had offside events and everyone needing their cars. These guys made quick work of getting everyone on their way with 15 minutes. I heard a few grumbling about wait times at different areas such as front desk, restaurant, etc but when they are tending to the guest in front of them..they are not express lining they are listening and taking care of you. I rather wait than be rushed and unheard. Great job Grand Galvez..I will be back.

When we checked in, there was a wedding, so it took nearly 30 minutes just to get into the hotel. Then we had to wait another 15 minutes while two registration attendants slowly helped two guests. Finally, when we got to register, there was a tall, slender gentleman who was friendly and helpful, but that’s where the positives ended. They put us on the third floor, right over the wedding reception, and didn’t even bother to mention it! It felt like discovering that you paid for a round of golf only to find the greens were punched. We went to the restaurant for dinner, where the food was decent, but the service was a disaster. And it wasn’t the server’s fault—he was friendly enough, but the wedding chaos kept him away from our table for 10-15 minutes at a time just to get us water. But the real issue was the wedding reception itself! The audio was so loud that we heard every single bump and beat of their music until past midnight. We tried to sleep starting at 9:30 PM, but it was impossible with the DJ blaring every word. If they had bothered to inform us we were directly over the reception, we could have moved to the other side of the building! For over $200, I was incredibly disappointed. And the worst part? When we checked out, I shared my experience with the young lady at the front desk, and her response was completely disengaged and unconcerned. The only bright spot was Mariah, an amazing server in the restaurant, who truly made our breakfast experience enjoyable. It’s just infuriating that such a trip could go so wrong!

I mistakenly reserved a room at the hotel thinking that a business conference was there rather than at a different hotel. The reservation admittedly was non-refundable, but I realized my mistake about 15-20 min later. I appealed to the hotel to cancel or modify the reservation, but after failing to respond at all for 3-4 days, the hotel then refused to accept cancellation or even offer a credit for a future stay. Incredibly low-grade treatment and service. Have been a customer in the past but hard to imagine that I would return again.

I have stayed at several Autograph Collection properties, but this hotel was a major disappointment compared to others in the collection. While the exterior and lobby create a positive first impression, the experience quickly falls apart. The staff was dismissive and unwelcoming, and the rooms were dated and poorly maintained. On the 5th floor, the water pressure was nearly nonexistent, making showers a struggle. The massive, nonadjustable showerhead was positioned uncomfortably close to the shower door, and the toilet in my room was crooked, forcing my knees against the shower door, a frustrating and awkward setup. The elevators felt outdated and unnervingly unreliable, as though they might fail at any moment. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel was quiet, which allowed for restful sleep. However, these positives were overshadowed by the overall condition of the property. On top of all this, I paid over $700 for a two-night stay, only to be hit with an unexpected $40 facilities fee. This charge was not disclosed upfront, and the hotel didn’t provide a receipt, forcing me to call to figure out what the fee was for. At this price point, I expected a much higher level of service, better accommodations, and at least basic transparency about fees. Unfortunately, this property lacks the charm and quality I associate with the Autograph Collection.
