Holiday Inn Lubbock South, an IHG Hotel

I was traveling with 34 students to attend the UIL Swim Regionals in Lubbock on February 7 & 8. When we arrived the gentleman who greeted us and checked us in to our rooms was quick professional and friendly. He made the activity of arranging the rooms simple. I appreciate his attitude and readiness. Our stay was enjoyable. The morning we checked out I was greeted at the desk by a young woman who was friendly, professional and effective. She made the checkout process simple, as I need detailed receipts. I worked in hotels while in college and appreciate people that make the experience of staying at a hotel pleasant. Even more I appreciate people whose positive attitudes make for a pleasant day and stay!

Overly priced for unsatisfactory stay. The front desk male that was there when we checked was a totally rude. Rushed through the information. Couldn't understand anything he said. If you asked for clarification he was rude. My room was not fully cleaned. There was NO shower curtain! When I asked for one I got attitude about it. They brought it & it was too short! Myself, my friends, & their kids all went down to the pool & the front desk guy complained about the kids being too loud. It was 1700. & they are kids! Let them be just that! We got accused of it smelling like cake in the pool area! WHO BRINGS CAKE TO THE POOL!? BE FORREAL! The bar closing time was ridiculous. Last call was at 20:30. The bar closes at 2100? Very limited on everything in the stay! We have never been to a Holiday Inn that didn't offer complimentary breakfast. We were pretty upset when we found out we didn't get complimentary breakfast with our high priced stay! The pool hour are just flat out ridiculous. There is literally no lifeguard ever, so why is it opening at 10? 1 hour before CHECKOUT! So you barely get anytime the day before because front desk dude is having a bad day & then there's no point in going in the morning because you need time to shower & get dressed after swimming. I all together was not impressed. I have paid less than one hundred for a room & had a much better experience. Will never stay here again or recommend to anyone.

I picked this hotel because of the high reviews, very deceiving. Room was not clean. Hand towels in the bathroom were dirty. Hair all over the sink, toilet, and floor. The ac control was sticky with candy residue and very dirty. One of the comforters had stains. Carpet needs to be cleaned!

This hotel was phenomenal! Beautiful, clean, and modern hotel. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Above all the staff is absolutely amazing! Always willing to help and encouraged us to try the in house restaurant Burger Theory. We are glad we ate there food was delicious everything as made to perfection. Thank you for making our stay wonderful, this will always be our place to stay from now on in Lubbock!

We travel here with our Soccer families many times a month. We normally stay at the Hawthorne suites and love it there this time we tried the Holiday Inn. Staff is very impolite. We had our team parents in the lobby, enjoying quiet time after the children went to bed and were told we needed to go to the room or the police would be called by Henry! There was no loud, laughing, talking or any disruptive behavior. I didn't know there was a curfew at this hotel. It says there is free coffee in the lobby and that is untrue. I have called to request to speak to the general manager. I was supposed to get a call back at 10 it is currently 1030. I will be letting all of our sports family in West Texas. know, not to stay here. I will be posting on the public forum. If you have any children or like family time at all, do not stay at this hotel it's just heartbreaking for this kind of experience in a Holiday Inn.

We are traveling to and from Colorado from McAllen, Texas and stayed here both ways. We had the best time chit chatting with Mateo and Leticia at the front desk. Very nice and personable individuals. Made our stay experience great. ✨Willy from maintenance was by far my favorite person there!! 🙏🏽He’s so friendly and polite. Oh let’s not forget Zephyr. 💗She had the best smile on her face. Great customer service from these beautiful people!! Mathew from the night shift, on the other hand needs to improve his people skills. Unfortunately he did not leave a positive impression on us, but over all this was a great place to stay. 💖 Thank you 😊

Matthew at the front desk was very welcoming upon my arrival and had great customer service. My room was clean and spacious. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

I expected so much more as a frequent business traveler! I enjoy being comfortable for my stays and I am a "very clean" person. That said, I noticed 12"-14" long hairs were sticking like spaghetti on the walls after I was already in the shower. Then to add, the toilet had "left overs" on the sides of the bowl at the Holiday Inn in Lubbock, TX. To his credit, the attendant at checkout apologized for the room's condition.
