My Place Hotel-Lubbock, TX

The room was comfortable, but it is def a 2 star hotel. Long term guests made it difficult to sleep due to the noise from them sitting outside our window. The linens and bathroom were clean. The staff was very kind and helpful. We had to check in a few minutes early, as I'd taken my dad to Lubbock for a medical procedure. He needed to rest so we arrived about an hour early. They very kindly accommodated our need to check in.

I strongly believe in leaving honest reviews to help others make informed decisions, and unfortunately, I feel compelled to write this one to warn future guests and hopefully push this hotel to do better. From the moment I stepped into my room, it was nowhere near my expectations. The level of poor maintenance and lack of cleanliness was shocking. There was food splattered on the appliances, the towels were stained and soiled, and the entire room just felt unsanitary. I was so uncomfortable that I had to go to the store to buy my own cleaning supplies and sanitize the room myself—something I’ve never had to do at any hotel before. To make matters worse, when I left for the day and returned at 4 PM, my room had not been cleaned. When I asked the housekeeping staff in the hallway, I was told my room was on a “no stay-over” list, meaning they weren’t planning on cleaning it at all—whatever that means. At that point, I had lost all confidence in this hotel’s sanitation efforts and couldn’t even bring myself to try the free breakfast, as I was convinced the lack of cleanliness extended throughout the establishment. The only positive from my stay was the front desk staff, who was one of the nicest people I encountered during my trip. But even his kindness couldn’t make up for the frustration, regret, and overall disappointment I felt—especially since this stay was supposed to be for Valentine’s Day. I regret not choosing another hotel, and I have attached photos not to embarrass the establishment but to help future guests make an informed choice. Hopefully, management takes this review seriously and makes immediate improvements because no guest should have to clean their own hotel room before feeling comfortable.

Sadly, I was getting sick, but this hotel had everything I needed including a very comfy bed to recover in & a recliner to sit up and watch TV!! The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel was quiet so I could rest. It was nice having a kitchenette to bring in food as needed.

VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE. The soundproofing system definitely had some issues. Whenever someone upstairs walked, we could clearly hear it, which was extremely annoying especially in the middle of the night. The room nextdoor was very loud at 3am and we could not sleep. The wall didn’t block any sound at all. The room was fine but not clean. Overall, not worth it.

Front staff was very helpful and friendly when we checked in and out. Comfortable place to stay for the very affordable price we paid as a last minute booking! Would definitely stay here again if needed. ||(Loved that it had a kitchen in our room, would have used if it was a longer stay!)

Excellent front Desk Service |Rooms are super clean and well kept |Very Friendly environment |Laundromat works very well. Been coming here for about 4 months for business and they never disappoint. 5 star hotel in my opinion and very affordable

The place is gross. The towels are yellow stained, my shower was destroyed, and my room had roaches. Save your money and don’t stay in this roach infested place. The employees seem like they’re upset if you ask a question. Avoid this at all costs

This hotel was disgusting. The room was dirty. The bathroom was dirty. The bath towels were stained and dirty. The bed sheets were dirty and stained. This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Will never stay at another one of these places. It’s clear at this location they don’t care about cleaning or upkeep or anything. This hotel was so bad that when we got home we all had to shower and wash our clothes in order to feel comfortable at home. Total crap hotel. Don’t ever stay here!
