Residence Inn Milwaukee Brookfield at Poplar Creek

This was my second stay at the Residence Inn (RI). First off, the property is brand new and well designed. The rooms are comfortable and clean for the most part. The cleanliness of the dishes and silverware provided left much to be desired. Sure, I would always clean them before using regardless but the presentation of dirty items is unacceptable. ||On my first visit, breakfast quality and service was great. However, this past weekend, it was a complete disaster. There was absolutely no food left at around 9AM on both Saturday and Sunday, and the staff couldn’t have been any more rude. There was a complete 180 come Monday AM as food was available and staff service improved. I really would suggest that the staff also check that the guest dining are indeed staying at the RI and not friends/family staying at the attached Courtyard. I suspect this was a problem this past weekend. ||Since this is a new property, I know they’re still in the ramping up period and am confident that management will eventually have daily ops smoothed out.

This hotel is brand new so very clean and all facilities are in perfect condition. The ladies at the reception were very pleasant to converse with. We had a couple of friends having a drink with us at the bar and the service and the drinks were a let down…no menu (according to the bartender). He wasn’t very pleasant. We paid nearly $40 for a G&T and a whiskey. We were not given a detailed bill so no price list….strange! The location is excellent- just across the street from a beautiful plaza - plenty of stores and restaurants. I wish the room was quieter at night as we couldn’t sleep well as the heating/cooling system is right next to the bed and very loud (even after we switched it off in the hope that the noise will stop). It’s frustrating that you have to choose between being warm at night or having a less noise coming from HVAC that is located right next to the bed!!! We did not sleep well at this hotel!

It was ok. Staff was very friendly and polite. The room however was very loud. The HVAC sounded like a big train engine about 2 blocks away spooling up and down all night and kept waking me up. The bathroom didn't have enough towels and more were brought right away that was nice, but then we discovered the dispensers in the shower were also empty and asked for a refill, they apologized for being late and said they sent someone up, but they never came. Ice bucket was missing as well, not a big deal. Just overall the room preparedness wasn't what I'm used to at a Marriott. The pool room we stopped in for a bit to use the hot tub however discovered there isn't one. The pool was a kids play area with water blasters soaking everything, walls, ceiling, the emergency telephone, first aid bag. No one seemed to care, but that's not on Marriott just non caring parents.

Our stay was disappoiting because of the really LOUD HVAC noise in such a brand new hotel (built in Nov 2024). Even with both thermostats turned off (the one in the living room and the one in the bedroom), there was still noise coming from the HVAC unit that is literally placed 3 feet away from the bed. On my second night, I had to sleep on the couch in the living room as it was less noisy, to be able to function in my business meetings in the morning. Luckily, we were not there in the middle of winter. Otherwise, we would have to choose between either a too cold room or a too noisy room. I hope the hotel management will take immediate action to fix this issue as it seems many people mentioned the same concern in their reviews. Other than that the hotel is brand new and is in a very nice location. The rooms are clean, and the front desk staff are friendly and welcoming. The gym facility is great. They just need to regularly replenish the wet wipes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again! We stayed in a two bed suite and it was even more spacious than anticipated. The room was very clean and we had no issues with noise. All of the workers were very friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman working the breakfast area on 2/9. The area for the continental breakfast was huge and very nice, we enjoyed sitting by the fireplace. The breakfast was better than expected for being free, I especially enjoyed all of the toppings for the yogurt!

A great modern hotel! Comfortable suite, comfortable beds and comfortable couch. There is plenty of space and tons of outlets. A great shower and a very efficient mini kitchen. Nice big TV’s and a great little coffee maker. I gave this 4 stars for 2 reasons. 1 . no recycling bins in the rooms or anywhere in the hotel and 2. ( my main complaint) the furnace that produces warm and cool air for the room, is way too loud. I was woken up several times by how noisy the thing is. I can tell it’s efficient and high tech, just too damn noisy. May chane to 3 stars

Great stay. The hotel is clean and the layout of the common areas is cozy. The residence inn has a separate lounge area with a fireplace. The pool area is kid friendly with a shallow 9" deep section and a submerged bench seat in the deep area. The covered parking is great for security and cold mornings. I would highly recommend.

I did not enjoy the room. Specifically it was difficult to sleep given the location of the heater was directly facing the bed. There was also a poorly located fire alarm directly above the bed that flashed a blindly light consistently through the night. I understand that it's mandatory to have a fire alarm but the Fairfield down the road has it faced away from the head of the bed. The front desk told me all the rooms have the heater facing the bed and all the rooms have the flashing light. Front desk said they could put a piece of tape on the alarm but they never did. The 'filtered' water by the gym did not taste good. Breakfast selections was minimal for what is expected of a residence inn. I did continue my stay despite the poor sleeping arrangements for the perk of having the heated garage.
