Rocky Mountain Motel

If I could give this place no stars, I would. This is truly the epitome of Colfax. Prostitution, drugs, dead people, bed bugs, stolen cars, cops there all the time. A weekend here is like watching an episode of COPS. If you value your life, find somewhere else to stay.

I lived about a block away from the motel. I had all my furniture gone and I was moving. The Rocky Mountain had a room. I'm very aware of what the rooms were like but I thought one night for several hours was ok. I was very tired. Half the place is burned up from a fire a few months ago. That was around when a guest openned fire on a Lakewood cop. || There is always drug dealing going on either in rooms 18 or 19. All local citizens are aware of this because its so obvious. Unfortunately it smelled so bad I couldn't take it. I didn't mind the broken tv, no towels and missing light bulbs but I just couldn't take that weird and awful odor so I asked for my money ($90.00, Hah!) but no way. He just laughed but did give me my $10.00 key deposit back. I don't think it'll make AARP's list of passable inns.

Location is great being halfway between my kids and business, easy going owner is great about the riff raff around promptly enforcing the no trespassing and visitors after 10 rule if they don't pay as most motels do. I stay a week a month and the owner is great the housekeeper is awesome and works diligently to make me cozy in my older but clean and quiet room. Best motel by far between Federal and Kipling. Central to everything. Great stays always.

If you are from out of town or traveling with loved ones and are not about that life DO NOT come here I have only lived in the area a year and a half and have seen a dead person in the parking lot as well as multiple shootouts find somewhere else if you value your life.

Nice very clean rooms. Not any of the riff raff you might expect for being right off of Colfax Avenue. The prices were reasonable. Especially since you have a refrigerator in the room (Motel 6 charges you extra) 👍

Upon inspection of the room that my friends are staying in the gas stove is dangerous it's a kitchenette the freezer has no door and basically the places very used to say the least it works for transitional housing for someone that is desperate and in need to beon major travel lines and it is very accessible for public transportation but he's definitely substandard it's the bed is setting on 1 gallon pink cans and the frames about to fall apart these are just the facts it is not a family friendly place to stay at least but it does serve a purpose in the community for transitional housing for people that can't get anything else that's what it's for I didn't take any photos of the room out of respect for management they do try with what they have I'll give them that

So definitely a place you would wana reconsider if you have kids, loved ones, your spouse. Place were people be renting by the hour and its all cool people gotta make there money but also being a father ya i would avoid it.
